Getaway's crew is absolutely incredible. I've found on RCI and Celebrity that if you pass stateroom attendants, etc. that "aren't yours", you're lucky to get a glance.

 

No matter who it was on Getaway of all rankings, they all say hello, ask how you are doing, and SMILE.

 

The crew really does make a ship what she really is.

Wow- there couldn't be a better endorsement!

We were in 12304 on the Breakaway and loved it! The benefits of 12304 is you can see the fireworks from the balcony! We had some people join us and served Champaign and a cake from Carlo's bakery. The balcony is huge and we had lunch served several times during the cruise as well as afternoon tea. The bathroom is awesome. The bathtub had a huge window which overlooked the ocean as well as did the amazing shower. Also, they provided bath salts throughout the cruise. Tip - bring some flameless candles. Lastly, they project neon fish onto the water from the which is so cool to watch from your Aft Penthouse!

Glad you had a good time. I am in 12304 on the getaway next year- I am told the GA is an exact replica of the BA. Do you have any pixs of your cabin and balcony?

We have booked a Haven Spa Suite with Balcony, our Docs say Terminal C is the boarding terminal. However, I have read on a review that on the EPIC Terminal C is the general boarding terminal and Terminal B is the Haven Boarding area, Is this also true for the Getaway?

 

So I will ask, to all those who has sailed the Haven suites on Getaway which Term. did you board on?

 

Lastly, has anyone been upgraded from Category S9 to one of the Penthouses? (just curious)

I am sure Getaway is very similar to EPIC (which I have been on a couple of times) and Yes there are 2 boarding terminals But Both have VIP/Haven suites areas. I believe the terminals depend on your deck. Odd decks go to one and even to the other. No worries- whichever terminal you are assigned to will have the Suite boarding area. Hope this helps

No don't buy the Vibe pass. We stayed on the Haven sun deck all the time. It was quiet. Even with the whole Cake Boss family there it was still quiet. What's good about being in the BA/GA there's so much for the kids to do on the ship that the Haven area is boring for them.

Are there showers or misters on the Haven upstairs sundeck? I know Vibe has an oversized hot tub and am wondering if there is any way to cool off in the Haven Sundeck area without having to go down to courtyard area? Are there waiters/waitresses upstairs in Haven sundeck area as well?

Would also like to see Penthouse 12304. Looking to book this for our 2015 Jan/Feb cruise. Would consider 12904 on the other corner too. Pics and video please!!!! :D

I also will be traveling with haven access on the Getaway and Am also interested in getting the VIBE pass mostly because I hear the sun deck for Haven guests (not the courtyard area) does not have a Bar or Hot tubs. Does anyone know if this is true?

The VIP do was on the Monday the first week and the Wednesday the second week with the Lattitudes reception on the Monday of the second week.

Wow a B2B!! how wonderful! Thank you for the lovely review. Glad you enjoyed your holiday. I leave next saturday to sail on sunday. Can't wait!! This will be my 3rd time on the epic and I will definitely miss her when she goes to Europe.

Quick question- do you remember what day the VIP cocktail party was held and which day was the Latitudes reception?

We got to the port at about 9:30 and got the last of the vibe passes - they said they only sold 40 on our sailing.

why so few Vibe passes sold? I know with Epic they only sell a few Posh passes because all haven suite guests have access but I thought on BA the haven suite guests did not have access to Vibe? Am I mistaken?

Or is Vibe that much smaller than Posh?

Any recent Epic cruisers on the Wesern carib itinerary (sun- sun)? looking to see when the VIP cocktail party for suite passengers was as well as when the latitudes party was held. I remember last year during eastern carib which sailed on Saturday, the VIP party was Monday and the Latitudes was Wednesday. Want to ensure I schedule around these 2 events. Thank you in advance.

firsttimeva-- hope they are wrong!! I am leaving Saturday afternoon. I haven't heard anything about next weekend. I did hear on Tuesday/Wednesday- more snow and very cold again all week!

I warned my DH a couple of weeks ago- if the forecast turns bad we WILL leave Friday for Miami and his work will have to deal with it! otherwise, I go without him! :D

I too Love the POSH area But please take note- there is no swimming pool. But there are great loungers, chairs, service and bartenders. You can even order lunch.

On my CC app on iPad now. Everything ok except for "Unread" and "Participated" which say "No Topics" when you click on them.

 

I wish I could find a button to TURN THE SNOW OFF!!
