  1. "they are well fed 40 lbs of food a day, a bit like us on the cruise!!" this made me laugh out loud!
  2. You can also tour the Royal Palace. Another fun, easy thing to do is the Oceanographic Museum.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oceanographic_Museum_of_Monaco Very interesting and much more than fish.
  3. I totally agree! I hate apps on cruises. I really enjoy having the printed schedules.
  4. Thanks so much everyone. This is a big benefit!
  5. We are booked on our first Regent Cruise, on the Voyager. I read on another thread that a woman on the Mariner requested her dress to be air-dried. Can we customize our laundry like this on the Voyager? I prefer most of my clothes not to be put in a dryer, and I like them washed in cold water.
  6. I was at Harvest Caye a few years ago. The pool was very nicely designed, zero depth, with little curves and shade. My friend and I did the "fish spa" and enjoyed it. The "Beach" was awful - very rough. It wasn't sand - some type of ground up shells. No way could you go barefoot. Just my 2 cents worth.
  7. We are new to Regent We are booked on Buenos Aires to Rio on Voyager departing March 9, 2024. We have the included pre-cruise hotel night in Buenos Aires. When will Regent announce which hotel we will be staying at? I have learned so much from this forum and appreciate all the input!
  8. Good choice in Alesund. We took the tram tour last year and it was delightful. There is an interesting history museum in town, too. Kind of hard to find - look for steps leading to a walkway.
  9. I have never been on ant cruise line with a cancelled port, and there have been a bunch, where port fees were refunded.
  10. Simple Question from a Regent Virgin: Am I correct that a printed copy of the schedule for the next day is delivered to our suite in the evening? Several cruise lines I have been on recently have eliminated this to "save paper." They want us to check apps or scrounge around for limited printed copies at various places on the ship. We enjoy having a printed copy to read and plan the next day.
  11. I prefer to know the options before I sail in case I want to arrange a tour and/or transfer on my own. Would not want to be doing this onboard. Really wish Regent could let us know pre-cruise!
  12. What is an extension lead? We always bring an extension cord for the CPap machine. Will we have delayed luggage delivery?
  13. I read that pieces of denture tablets are a good way to clean water bottles.
  14. You are off to a great start with your posts too! Following with great interest!
  15. Last year we were on a (non-Regent) cruise that went from Iceland to Norway to Scotland to Southampton. We never had the "pleasure" of meeting the Border Force.
  16. To clarify, my OBC is from Amex so I will ask them. My concern was not the size of the buses for the free excursions, but the vehicles used for the small group tours. Are the large buses used for the small group excursions? I have had bad experiences with other cruise lines on "small group" tours which used little vans. We are on the Buenos Aires to Rio itinerary, which includes 3 ports in Uruguay and the rest in Brazil. And I very much agree with Portolan re the VOX/Whisperer devices!
  17. We are looking forward to our first Regent cruise on Voyager next March. What do you all think is the best way to use a $300 onboard credit? We are not into wines, or fancy liquor. So I guess that leaves the spa, gift shops and paid excursions. Am I missing something? We are happy with the free excursion offerings. I know some people have said the small group tours are great, but my concern was the transportation used. We really don't enjoy being crammed in bumpy vans. Do they use buses instead? I have learned so much from this forum and all the discussions! I appreciate any input and advice on this matter.
  18. Yes, Please research local tipping customs. In some countries, people are actually insulted when you try to tip them. We made the error of tipping a waiter in New Zealand - he chased us out the door and down the street to return it!
  19. I am not an experienced Regent cruiser (yet) but I have flown on LATAM several times and liked them. No complaints.
  20. I love the dressing up but hate packing the clothes. Airline baggage weight limits have ruined the formal experience for me.
  21. We had a tough time in Munich with a transfer that required us to go thru a very very long tunnel between terminals. We made the flight but were very stressed. I think it really matters which terminals you will be in.
  22. When we disembark in Rio and we expect to have an evening flight home, does Regent offer any tours for that day that end up at the airport?
