  1. Thank you. We had 12 people in our party and we were all told the same, "an email with be sent to you with the final accounting." The only emails I'm receiving are marketing emails for selltheg next cruise.
  2. It's been 8 days since I debarked and I still have not received my onboard account final bill. I was told by guest services that I would receive it shortly after leaving the cruise and I also emailed (per RCL direction) RCL asking for my billing email. How long does it take? Charge has hit my cc but I'm not sure it is correct but I can't reconcile until I see the account from RCL. Yes, you can look it the billing on the app but not after you leave the cruise. And, you are not always provided receipts.
  3. Don't forget that Easter is early this year, March 31 so that will be a big cruise week. I find mostly the 3-4 day cruises are attractive to young people because of the cost and Carnival is less expensive than say RCL.
  4. Has anyone used this offer? I understand it only applies to one person. Can you use it in the dining room? Can you use it for coffee? I noted in the "terms and conditions" that it may not be available on embarkation day due to state laws but wondered what states other than Texas where that restriction would apply.
  5. Are there any other options other than the Lido for embarkation day lunch on the Liberty? Also, what is the best place for "good" coffee?
  6. Just remember if you cancel, any refund goes back in the form of a Carnival Credit Card, not to your regular credit card or refunded in cash.
  7. Off the ship now so I feel there would be "no chance" of any reimbursement but "a lesson learned"..
  8. Unfortunately it was a gift of a collagen facial so I'm not sure exactly how much they paid. I did specifically ask what the service charge was for and they did say it was a "vendor charge" and that the gratuity was not included. I paid the service charge and a $35 tip.
  9. I specifically asked and was told "no" it is not the gratuity so I had to add another $35 for the gratuity.
  10. Recenlty had a spa treatment on Allure and was charged a "service charge" of $31.80 for my treatment. This is an additonal charge above the cost of the treatment and I was told "it is not the gratuity" but a service charge by the Spa vendor. Can anyone tell me what this means? The treatment was nice, overpriced (but I expected that) but I do hate the "upsell" they are required to do as the person providing the service does get a commission.
  11. I'm always surprised when I see someone bring a cheap bottle ($5 - $6) of wne with them and then have to pay a $15 corkage fee??? Am I missing something?
  12. I never take any good jewelry with me and then I don't have to worry about losing anything or being robbed and I can focus just enjoying myself.
  13. Have to say that I have never thought RC had great food. Also Diamond on CCL and I have always enjoyed the food but have not sailed with them since COVID. I believe the cruise lines have all cutback on food as well as other amenities since COVID. I always enjoy my cruises no matter what cruise line I sail! So sail and enjoy!
  14. Just reporting that I did get the balance of my AARP gift card applied to my original deposit payment credit card. The AARP gift card process was a little disconcerting as it took a relatively long period to complete the process. I emailed my gift card (10/27) to RCCL as directed by the gift card instruction and the info clearly stated 10 business days. Since my final payment was due in a week I did call RCCL and explained I sent the gift card info, received an auto-confirm. They did extend my final payment date to coincide with my gift card processing time. It was right down to the wire but the gift card did get processed and the balance remaining showed up on my credit card within 7 days so all is good. I am just so use to being able to apply a gift card online (other cruise line) myself for immediate payment that I felt RCCL process was a bit cumbersome but all is good. Just be sure to READ the TERMS so you understand how the AARP gift card works, i.e., booking directly with RCCL, emailing digital gift cards and waiting for application (10 business days).
  15. I've had to go that route in the past and you do get a staff response so I would definitely give that a try! Good luck.
  16. Thank you. I'll watch my credit card I used for original deposit to see what happens.
  17. Thank you. My question then becomes if there is a balance on the gift card and based on the "terms" listed, does that mean the balance can only be applied to a "new" booking and cannot be used for anything else? It seems very restrictive and confusing.
  18. Anyone know how to check the balance on the RCCL AARP Gift Cards? I'm reading the "Terms and Conditions" which states "cannot be partially redeemed" and that concerns me as I should have $150 remaining balance after my final payment using 3 gift cards. I have a gut feeling that I'm screwed and I will never see the $150.
  19. So to understand correctly, you put your card in a slot machine and it automatically transfers to your machine or you have to initiate it somehow?
  20. Is it just me or did they raise the prices to accommodate the "sale".....??
  21. Because you have to insert your card in the machine and they knew the name "Karen" they obviously could have contacted her. I knew someone who walked away leaving $900 credit in her machine and they did contact her.
