I'd like to add one more "thank you" for your fantastic reports. I'm getting anxious for our January cruise on the Zaandam. My question is about the indoor temps. on the ship. Have they been fairly normal? Or chilly in some spots and overly warm in others? Thanks again!

Has there ever been a topic that resulted in this many posts so quickly? It certainly hit a lot of buttons but good or bad-who knows?

We also have a tour arranged for a group of 8 that will pick us up at the hotel, tour the city, visit a winery and then drop us off at the pier in San Antonio. If you'd like details send me a message s.k.hill@comcast.net

We have reservations for our stay in January at the Hotel Plaza San Francisco. There are about 10 couples from our roll call who have chosen to stay there although we've all chosen that hotel on our own-not a group booking. I originally used Booking.com but found a fair savings by booking directly with the hotel. They were also able to arrange a car to meet us at the airport for $50.

The per person per day makes it a lot more expensive than a flat rate per cruise. And with all the questions on how it will all work, it sounds like an expensive mess waiting to happen.

Well, I'm not sure if US$1600 for a sixteen day cruise would be a price we would pay!
If it's at all similar to the Carnival program the cost is for the entire cruise, not per day. So hopefully it wouldn't be a pricey add-on. And the Carnival program has a set limit of available spots.

Sounds somewhat similar to Carnival's Faster to the Fun program but does include a few more perks.

Are you sure you're signed in? I had the same message and realized I wasn't signed in.
-
Nope, thanks fatcat but that didn't work either. Which ship were you able to access?

When I just clicked on the "Find Your Roll Call" at the top of the page I was not able to get any roll call. It said, "Under Construction" and "No Results.
Also, are we no longer able to choose a different font? Hopefully time will improve all improvements!😃

We chose one of aft cabins that had a shower only on the Zuiderdam. More counter space in the bathroom was a plus. Very smooth cruise through the Baltic and around Iceland.

Is this a question best answered by contacting Customs and Border Control? Google search may be your best bet.

When booking our flight from Seattle to Santiago I looked at several options. And decided there is absolutely no common sense when it comes to airline pricing. American Comfort Class (or whatever the step above coach is called) was about $1250 pp from Seattle. A $100 flight would get us to San Fran or Las Vegas and then the cost was $750 to Santiago. If we left from DFW for the direct flight to Santiago (and all flights stop in Dallas) the cost was $1650. Finally ended up on a flight from Vancouver BC for $556. Good luck!

If you're at all interested in private tours, check out our roll call for the Jan. 30, 2019 sailing. Some tours we booked more than a year in advance and a few were full rather quickly.

We've taken 4 Princess cruises and enjoyed them as much as our HAL cruises. Many things are similar-but the trivia prizes are better on Princess :D.

We've stayed at the Rome Hilton at the airport. An easy walk from the airport-I think it was mainly through the parking garage. We took the shuttle into town for touring and then back to the hotel. The last day we went into town and then took the train to the port. A very nice hotel.

Sign up for the roll call for your specific cruise. Our January, 2019 cruise roll call has a lot of information on various tours-yours probably will too. As was previously mentioned, check out the South America board and also the board for your ship.

If you're staying several days and you find a good deal for an airport hotel the light rail to downtown from the airport is very easy to use. Senior fares are available if that applies. If I remember correctly, one of the downtown stops is in the underground tunnel near Macy's dept. store-very convenient.

Update to the price of the hotel: Someone from my roll call let me know that I could save about $30/night if I booked directly with the hotel-so that's what I did! Thanks Mary!

Same here! The carpet patterns are not tasteful at all.
I have a feeling that plainer, muted carpeting would show dirt and spots sooner than the wildly patterned, colorful floor covering.

We're staying at the Hotel Plaza San Francisco. I used Booking.com and found a rate for $152/night. They also arranged a transfer from the airport to the hotel for $50-up to 3 passengers and luggage. Decided after a long overnight flight it would be nice to have someone waiting for us with our name on a sign! Since we're scheduled for Jan. 2019 hopefully all will work as planned.:)

I have a tour/transfer scheduled for Jan. 2019 so I can't recommend it but it's been easy to work with South Excursions. $165 pp for 2, $100 p for 4, $90 pp for 6 and $80 pp for 8. It was easy to fill our group of 8 from our roll call. The company will pick up from various hotels but as it happens, we are all at the same hotel which will make it easy. We have a tour of Santiago, winery visit and then to the port in San Antonio.

Thanks for the help. I just wanted to make sure we didn't have to leave earlier than the norm because we overnighted there. We have a tour and airport transfer scheduled but didn't want to start too early. 9:30 should be great.

We have an overnight onboard when we arrive in Buenos Aires next January. How long are we allowed to stay on board before final disembarkation? Trying to decide what's a good time to schedule a private tour for the day-the later the better. Thanks!

If I remember correctly he talked about a battlefield tour. It's toward the end-last page or two.
