Because the World cruises always sell out you might wonder if they'd ever consider a 2nd ship for a World cruise? Repeat cruisers would then have a choice between the known and a slightly different experience.

Thank you for the photos of the yarn-although my keyboard was in danger from my drooling over the wonderful assortment for an amazing price. I still have the yarn I bought in the Falklands last January-can't decide what I want to do with it but I love just looking at it.

I managed to know garlic! Everything else was "huh"? Good luck!!! And your blankets are so pretty and colorful.

Kathi, the photo of you with your dining steward at the Gala Night dinner is absolutely beautiful. A keeper for sure! Sounds like a fabulous cruise so far-happy sailing.

For our cruise last October we received multiple emails-1st that the medallion couldn't be shipped; then it was going to arrive by Oct. 25 (sailed on Oct. 19), next it wouldn't arrive until Nov.1, one more update and it finally arrived on Oct. 22. It took very little time at the port to have one issued. The medallion was shipped from Miami to the Seattle area.

Stupid Baked Alaska Parade with the napkin waving.
I cringe whenever napkins start waving-I want to duck all the crumbs and germs being flung around the room. Yuck!

Good luck with trivia Kathi! Always enjoy your recap of the questions asked. Have a fantastic journey.

If you end up in Seattle on or before Sept. 13, the Victoria Clipper has an afternoon sailing. It leaves at 3:15 pm.

We loved the Pacific Princess too although it's the only cruise that I've gained weight on-not enough walking and stair climbing since everything was so convenient. And we loved the outdoor, covered seating at the stern outside the buffet. The library is a beautiful room and all the woodwork is fantastic.

We invested in the shorter travel fins from Amazon that are much easier to pack. They've worked well in all the spots we've snorkeled. Not a huge amount of propulsion but more than adequate.

We just booked the Voyage of the Glaciers for this May. What I found out afterwards (I know-should have done more research first!) is that the airport in Anchorage is over 2 hours from the port in Whittier. We found a transfer company for the trip from Whittier to Anchorage for about $35 p/p. We booked our flights through Princess and were able to get 1st class for an amazing price. Because we booked with Princess we're flying in to Vancouver the morning of the cruise and taking the Sky Train to the pier.

So sorry to hear the "crud" arrived. Hopefully meds. and rest will send it on its way.
I think the fish you were wondering about in Noumea is a longhorn cowfish, found under the ray-finned fishes in my book along with box fish and puffers.

My daughter found cute backpacks for her boys at Target. And we called the strap a "tether" rather than a leash but they're wonderful for ease and peace-of-mind.

We have always found an outlet behind the bed. It is the European type so we carry an adapter and use that outlet for the CPAP machines along with the regular extension cord we carry. Eliminates the cords across the room.

In my experience the servers are more likely to give you a large than a small portion of anything. And they'll happily add to it if you'd like more.
One thing I also really like about HAL is the many items already plated that you can just grab. Sushi, some of the salads, fruits, desserts and in the AM, yummy yogurt parfaits are in small "grab and go" plates or containers, which cuts the lines down. Pre-made sandwiches and chips were in individual wrapper bags. Wish Celebrity did more of that.
But what drives me nuts are the people who want 2 dishes of fruit or dessert, then combine both to one plate and leave the dirty plate on the buffet line. ERG!...….

It's fun to see the menus each day but they're making me hungry. I hope some of the same entrees will be available on the Royal next month. Thanks so much for the expanded reports! Take care ………...

Yea! I've been checking my link to past blogs waiting for the word. Morning coffee just hasn't been the same without my virtual cruise. Safe travels and calm seas!

We had to unplug one of the lamps but we did find an outlet behind the bed. If I remember we did need an adapter for the plug in order to use our US plug.

Hey Gig Harbor-Vashon here. We did Antarctica in Jan. and loved it. Email me and maybe we can meet in Tacoma for slideshow and info, if you're interested. s.k.hill at comcast.net

First of all, I will admit to not reading every entry but would like to add if not already mentioned: take sunscreen, lip balm, good sunglasses, binoculars and hat and scarf. We had wonderful weather but the wind was still cold! Having a fleece scarf to pull up over my chin really made it comfortable to be out on deck for more than a few minutes. Still can't believe we were there! An amazing cruise from Santiago to Buenos Aires with the 4 days floating among the icebergs.

😃 I haven't been having any of the problems mentioned. I was wondering what everyone was talking about......until I left this discussion and went on to the next one. Bingo-Error 500. I jinxed myself.

Thanks for the help on the size of the medallion. Appreciate the information!

I've looked through most of the pages but haven't found where anyone has given an actual dimension of the medallion. The Princess website says it's about the size of a quarter but it sure looks bigger than that in when seen on someone's wrist. Would someone be willing to measure it and report back? Thanks so much!

I will be returning from our cruise with a scheduled time of 6:30 AM - allowing for time to clear the ship and get through customs and wanting to book a shuttle to LAX for a 12:15 International Departure, what time should I book the shuttle?
Great question-I was wondering the same thing? On a Princess ship if that makes a difference.

My question for everyone who has taken this excursion--how far down into the water does the ladder go? Or any idea of how many steps are underwater? A knee problem makes it difficult to get back up if the lowest ladder rung isn't very far underwater. Thanks!
