Not all cruise lines require the medical certificate for over 70s. I understand that NCL does, but do any other cruise lines?
I thought most of the lines required something similar now????

Just for a bit of fun post a prediction for when you think cruising will recommence in various regions. One point for each correct prediction, I'll keep a spreadsheet.
1. Australia/NZ/South Pacific
2. Asia out of Singapore
3. Japan
4. China
5. Alaska
6. Caribbean
7. Mediterranean
8. Baltic
If you think of any I've missed let me know.
Hmmm! I'll have to think about this. 😄
hi
Well I think later rather than sooner , I guess that it will take two years to return to anything near normality .
One of the huge deciding factors will be if the requirement for a medical certificate for the over 70's remains
If so many including myself will never cruise again
Would not like to divide the market geography its now a world market

Hi Folks
Just to be awkward I have inquired in regards to a couple of bookings I have on Serenade of the seas in October 2020 and asked if the requirement for a medical certificate will be ongoing and if it is will those of us old and broken down wrecks who will be denied boarding be able to get our deposits / payments back
regards John

Cunard is still taking booking for these two cruises despite New Zealand being totally closed to them and Australia almost impossible with warnings against all travel in force

Carnival Corp announced 24 hours ago that Cunard would be suspending operations. I posted the link twice, above.
Yes but there is a difference between Cunard (North America) and Cunard UK and Cunard Australia , each one is saying a different thing

Hi John,
Thanks for that info - I did not know that it had been cancelled - have they offered another cruise or a refund?
Regards
Alan
Hi Alan
Its a little too early to know as yet , but I suspect that you would be very lucky to make the cruise ..we have had nothing from Cunard as yet but carnival postings have our cruise in the prohibited dates and of course New Zealand is closed to us
The circumnavigation of OZ was /is a terrific deal but with things how they are its not likely to happen ..however stick with it as long as you can you never know whats going to happen,
We understand that we are to get 100% Refunds ...
Anyway good luck and please feel free to ask for any info I might have

Obviously, with our health problems and age travel insurance is very costly so we were trying to avoid that option and as this was a fairly unique cruise I am not sure that they will repeat it next year. I also dread to think what travel insurance will cost next year.
Hi Folks
I was booked on the cruise before yours which has been canceled frankly I doubt if your cruise will take place
and its a long walk from Sutton Coldfield to OZ.. take it as known from a boy from Castle Bromwitch
and I share some of your health issues which is going to make cruising impossible for me

Asking for clarification: We have not had any communication either from Cunard or our travel agent re our cruise in October. Should we have heard something or is it simply because we are still 3 months away from paying the full balance?
We don't want to cancel but I am so confused as to what to do for the best.
Hi
My advice FWIW hang on and avoid paying for as long as possible dont do anything in a hurry ...however dont pay until you have to

Will keep you updated, Just cannot understand why we have received no communication here in Australia.
Yes not a word from Cunard ... however I suspect that the Tasmania . New Zealand and Round Australia cruises will run after that I dont know perhaps the ship will stay down under and at least earn her living with similar cruises until such time as the "Panic" dies down
We are looking forward to our cruise and will not cancel ..hope Cunard does not blink

Having paid via debit card we will have to request that the bank recover funds as goods / Services have not and cannot be provided
I seriously think that at some stage in the future the lines funds are going to become a little stretched....
I'm so sorry for them but we cannot afford to take a large loss on this
BTW I spoke to Cunard on the phone today they told me that my April 1st cruise was still going to take place
Now that is a great all fools day joke!!

John
