  1. Does anyone know what happens when the category of stateroom you booked is recategorised. We booked a B3 balcony which is now categorised as a an A2 concierge do we get concierge benefits or what came with our original booking,I cannot think if some booked it as a concierge they would offer different benefits to different cabins in the same location? I have asked Oceania but the answer I got didn’t make sense
  2. We went to Rouen by train from Le Havre and it was very easy and much cheaper than an Oceania trip.Just google SNCF for details. Alternatively Honfleur is lovely and all you do is get a taxi outside the terminal, make sure you book a return trip. The first time we did this we didn’t and had a few anxious moments because we couldn’t find any taxis in Honfleur, but got over it
  3. I should have said the Southampton Central train station is ( depending where you dock ) is about half a mile and the trains run about every half hour .You get off at Southampton Parkway. We live near Southampton
  4. Catch the train it will be cheaper than taxi. The train station is right next to the airport
  5. Why do they not price gratuities into the fare and make it simple.P& O do in the U.K
  6. We booked for a round island trip in Barbados with Mikesmaxitaxi it was very reasonable and they replied very quickly
  7. We live near Southampton and Salisbury.Stonehenge is not on the way to Southampton but is easily doable,Simply ask your taxi driver to take you via Stonehenge from Heathrow it is about 1.5 to 2 hours to Stonehenge and then about60- 75 minutes to Southampton. If you email me Stuartlake@btinternet.com I can give you 2 taxi companies who would probably do it and you can ask there price. You don’t need a guide
  8. Also if you get the ferry to Hythe you can get a bus tour around the New Forest, they have 3 routes and you can connect to the various routes.Search New Forest bus tours if you’re interested.
  9. Yes but my email was accidentally deleted but email me and I can make a few suggestions.
  10. I have an email I sent to someone else with lots of suggestions for Southampton,if you want a copy email me Stuartlake@btinternet.com and I will send it to you.
  11. The average time is 1,5 hours. There are about 30 trains a day.For timetables see GWR or trainline.Bath Spa station is in the centre of town.
  12. We have lived near Southampton for over 40 years There are many things to do.Open top bus tour through the New Forest Train to Salisbury for cathedral and Wilton House ( in Bridgerton series),Stay on train for Bath ,Look at Exbury Gardens near Southampton. As previous poster said Beaulieu is nice and the motor museum. Alternatively the ferry to Isle of Wight and Osborne House (Queen Victorias summer house) You could get train to Weymouth a Victorian town.Or train and bus to Swanage and see Corfe Castle and a ride on a steam train.
  13. Any suggestions if it makes a difference going West to East to be port or starboard side in May
