  1. This is the first time to do this cruise out Of San Juan, and First time on Liberty

Any and all suggestions please, Reviews, ECT . Cant wait. We have two excursions booked. St Thomas and Barbados. Planning to hang out on ship most of the other time while in ports, But we will get off to explore in St kitts and St Lu. just for a lil bit. Now for St Martin its looking like Maho and Orient beach. Want this to be a relaxing vacay, so what to do in ports just for a lil bit. like say an hour or two? and GO

  2. Hi. Taking our first cruise on the Sensation from Jan. 31-Feb. 4. It looks like NASA scheduled a launch on Feb. 3, our sea day. I know we will be too far away to actually see the rocket, but wondering if weather permitting will we be able to see the smoke trail. Anybody ever see this before? The geek in me wants to look for it.

we watched one from Rustys in Port Canaveral... you could see for a long way. if your ship is close you will see it

  3. Yes, I did so 2 weeks ago on Fantasy. Had a $100 OBC, it just gets deducted from the total you charge to you Sign and Sail account at the end of the trip. So my $575 charge for cheers for 2 people for 5 days was billed as $475.

    Thanks for the info!

  4. I know everyone that likes wine will take advantage of the free bottle on first night.. BUT, I just dont recommend ARTS the first night.. Food is SOOOO great it will spoil the MDR food the rest of the cruise, Well it did mine. Lol:)

  5. We bought some of the popcorn flavour salts (butter, hickory bacon, bbq, etc.) and sprinkle them on. They work well.

The only thing we found is don't "save" popcorn for later (we would sometimes have a partial bag left and bring it back to the cabin). It doesn't keep well (the popcorn - nothing to do with the flavour salts).

    Thanks for the tip!:)

  6. Well After researching .... No microwaves for popcorn, Then a light bulb went off... Ill just bring my pour over movie butter from the O R popcorn! and Bam! Ill have my movie popcorn while at the seaside movies which I like watching a couple nights on the cruise!:D:D:D

  7. Why just large human beings?? Wouldn't that go for everyone??

Some ppl think they are perfect and expect the perfect cruise. DONT CRUISE CARNIVAL> its named fun ship for a reason!

Sounds like they have a problem with large ppl. think the OP needs a lesson in humility..

im a medium person and Ill wait my turn:D

  8. Thanks everyone.

I am coordinating a whole group of people, ranging in age 14-66. Payments are being made to me. Our "Cruise" pricing already includes our travel costs, cruise, port fees/taxes and gratuity.

Many have not cruised before, so they have asked for this info to help them plan extra money needed. Yes, I know they could just look at the website for some stuff.

I think you are doing a great thing helping them out! Some ppl dont like to gather info, Cannot believe ppl getting grouchy just cause you posted this.. DUH, I helped out my friends and Family last year on a cruise and planned everything, they were so grateful!

Haters are everywhere, they like to complain on anything and everything. I think your list is very accurate, Havent dot the MDR extras yet so dont now pricing.. Tell them the steak house is a do not miss!:D:D:D

  9. 12/12 part 4

Having the attention span of a fruit fly, I initially felt overwhelmed by the sight of ALL those shops up and down Front St. I tried to look for names I recognized, but it was quickly turning into a not so awesome game of “Where’s Waldo.” My bounty for this day was to be booze, specifically quality rum. I found Gulmohar’s and headed in. They had a decent selection, but nothing I couldn’t get back home at a better price. The proprietor made a snide comment as I checked the spreadsheet of rum prices back home and looked like he was p.o.’ed at the world. After a quick look we headed out. I was certain I’d find another store with a much more pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Low and behold we found one of Ray’s Jewelry locations. They had a small selection of door busters in front, and I spied a Johnny Walker Blue bottle for an awfully good price. The gentleman helping us was genuinely friendly and not at all pushy. He offered us water and samples of the local Ma Doudou flavored rum that comes in

beautiful hand painted bottles. He said unlike Puerto Ricans and Europeans, only mainland Americans and Canadians spend real money in Front St. and with over 100 jewelry retailers in such a small area competition was fierce! Between our ship and the large German ship in port, it had been a tough sales day for him. Of course at his point I wondered: What do THEY know that I don’t? I could just imagine their thought bubble: “Look as those suckers, I can get this stuff back home for way cheaper!”

I meant to only buy a bottle of rum, but by the time we left his shop we had gotten my Johnny Blue, 2 bottles of Ma Doudou, and some lovely rainbow/marine topaz ear rings for the BH. Amazing what a little hospitality and smile can do for a business!

We didn’t crack the Ma Doudou till we got back, but OMG the banana vanilla, (bottle adorned with a pretty hand painted purple fish) was off the chain! Sweet, buttery, silky, vanilla liquid gold that we have since drunk straight, in coffee, in hot chocolate, and with Mexican Coke. BH had gotten the coconut in blue glass (per BH) painted with a lovely flower. It was actually blue liquid and clear glass, which couldn’t possibly matter less, except that after confirming my suspicion about the blue liquid, BH uttered the words I never thought I’d hear in my lifetime: “You were right.” That bottle was initially going to be a gift, but she decided to keep it herself. Oh and the earrings became her early Christmas present, even though we weren’t doing gifts this year because of the cruise.

After making our way to Old Street and snapping the obligatory picture by the old yellow car, we walked to the boardwalk and headed to the water taxi stop closest to the ship. By now BH’s anxiety meter was in full gear, and doomsday scenarios of missing the ship in a foreign port were filling her head.

Undoubtedly my biggest miscalculation of the trip was not realizing the water taxis run every 15-20 minutes. I imagined it was one of those every 5 minutes round the clock while ship is in port kind of thing. Had I realized this sooner, we would’ve just grabbed a regular taxi by Old St instead of wasting time walking towards the water taxi stop. Not knowing when the next one was coming and BH’s anxiety reaching a fever pitch, we decided to hoof it back and try to get a cab on the way.

Great review, We will be on her Feb 7th! Yay, How was weather overall? Did you like San Juan? We get in a day before cruise and are looking for a good well lets say Drinking spot...:D

  10. If you listen to the video, you can hear a crew member asking them to leave the area and he ignores her. Then he tells the media how traumatizing it was for him and his family. What about the victim and his family?

And Let me Ask this.... How many ppl complaining watched his video....

  11. Hi DK1, My very favorite shot is " Wedding Cake " it tasts just like vanilla cake with the buttercream frosting. It can also be altered to make Chocolate cake shots and German chocolate cake shots. Below is the recipe: But be warned, you cannot taste any alcohol.

    ----------- Wedding Cake Shots ------------

1/2 oz Stoli or other vanilla vodka

    1/2 oz Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur

    1 lemon, sliced

    Granulated sugar

Mix vanilla vodka and Frangelico together in a shot glass. Before taking a shot, dredge a lemon slice in sugar. Drink the shot and immediately bite the lemon. ** some folks bite the lemon before the shot. Some folks also use powdered suger. I like the granulated though.

    ----------- Chocolate Cake Shots -------------

    .75 oz Frangelico

.75 oz vodka (regular not vanilla)

    Granulated sugar

Use a large or double size shot glass. Dip the rim of the glass in water then roll in granulated sugar to coat. In a shaker filled 1/2 with ice, add Frangelico and vodka. Shake and strain into the shot glass.

------------ German Chocolate Cake Shots -------------

    .75 oz Coconut flavor Rum

    .75 oz Frangelico

    Granulated Sugar

Use a large double shot glass. Wet rim of glass with water then roll in sugar. In a shaker filled with 1/2 ice add Frangelico and Rum. Shake and Stir. Strain into sugar lined shot glass.

    Enjoy Everybody! :)

Chocolate cake shots are the best!!!:D
