  1. Thank you! I’m planning on doing a “post mortem” for this cruise just for kicks. The free shows are 7:30pm and 9:30pm
  2. Yes, we thought about booking YC right out of the gate but really wanted the “full” regular MSC experience first to be able to compare it with other cruise lines. We’ve sailed most cruise lines from inside cabin all the way up to penthouse suite. I see the value in all levels. Next time I may book YC just to get more peace and quiet. This is our first MSC cruise.
  3. I mean it’s a shame because they truly have a great and competitive product. Maybe they have a psychological reason we don’t know about. Does it increase adrenaline and spending $ perhaps?
  4. And that’s why your screen name includes the word “logical”! I concur again and we ended up the Sky Lounge eventually. It was like a big “sigh” of relief. It also seems like either people are talking too loud or there are bad acoustics in the complimentary food spaces. The buffet and the main restaurant is also very loud but with loud talking. It’s all very puzzling why the volume seems over the top on this ship. I have never seen anything like this in all my years of cruising. I told guest services but they didn’t seem to care. I told them I’m wearing ear plugs around the ship and they said “sorry madam we don’t have earplugs”. lol.
  5. Maybe your hearing was damaged after the first cruise and louder feels normal to you now (lol).
  6. Currently on the Meraviglia and having a blast HOWEVER why is everything on this ship sooooooo loud? I mean this is NOT normal. If someone from MSC is reading this PLEASE turn down the volume. I’m literally wearing earplugs now in all the public spaces. It’s a shame because this is an awesome, beautiful ship with a great crew and very talented performers. You do not need the extra volume to prove yourselves. Am I the only who thinks this is crazy? IMG_3141.mov
  7. I will definitely look into this for my cruise after this one. We leave Sunday. I don’t think I’ll get them in time 😢. I have one of the correct European plugs that I have from when I last traveled to Greece that I’ll bring this time. Thank you! It looks like I can get the first one you listed tomorrow so I ordered it. Whoo hoo!
  8. So when you say “adapter”, is that just the plug? Do you also need the converter to use U.S.A. appliances? In other words, can you plug a USA plug directly into a European adapter plug and not have your stuff blow up?
  9. He will bowl at least 2 times. He bowls 4-5 days a week on land. We’ll definitely get our money’s worth if he can get lane time. I bought the fun pass for him.
  10. Our son’s team just won the NJ Morris County Championships for bowling and are headed to state competition after we get back from our upcoming cruise (2/4 Meraviglia out of BK). He must practice while we’re cruising and so happy to see they have a bowling alley on board!. Does anyone know how difficult it is to secure lane reservations, the cost and how we go about reserving?
  11. I feel the same way! It’s really not a great itinerary other than that island. We booked out of curiosity and of course the low cost. Even if it’s really windy and we’re able to dock I’m fully intending to go ashore and check it out. I hope we do dock🙏
  12. I know this is “cruising” but I’m curious if anyone knows the deal with skipping Ocean Cay due to high winds. Forecast shows 35mph winds when we’re due to arrive next Wednesday. That seems really high to me.
  13. Can you please tell me what toiletries are included in the cabin? Soap, conditioner, lotion etc. Trying to figure out what I need to pack in that area.
  14. Not sure about Seashore (we’re sailing on Meraviglia) but I know for my husband we had to submit a special needs request with MSC via email. They told him to bring his own distilled water and extension cord along with his email approval from MSC. Don’t know about the outlets but I think there may not be one next to the bed, so you will need the extension cord.
  15. Can you share any photos showing how you used the collapsible bins?
  16. Does anyone know if there’s a good video/pics out there accurately depicting the floor and shelf space in a Meraviglia balcony cabin (we are Aurea deck 13)? I’m starting to lean towards the collapsible storage containers and I’d really like to stack them like an extra piece of furniture but I’m not sure there would be enough room on the floor for it. I’m guessing the closets are super small from the little I’ve seen online. Any decent shelf space? There will be 2 adults and our 17 year old son so basically 3 grown bodies in that cabin.
  17. Sailing the Meraviglia on 2/4 and see that storage/drawer space is tight. Any hints or storage item purchases recommended for maximizing space?
  18. Thank you! That’s what I just ordered on Amazon. Seems the best option. for the other crafters out there: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07STZPX2L/ref=sspa_mw_detail_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9kZXRhaWwy&th=1
  19. I just read our cruise ticket information and it says that we cannot bring scissors on board. I like to crochet while cruising and I need to bring a small pair of scissors (4 inches or less). Does anyone know if they were able to bring scissors on board and if so would it be better to bring them in my checked luggage? I don’t even want to waste my time, asking the customer service reps. They will just parrot whatever is written on their website so I thought I’d ask in the forum to see if anybody has any experience with this type of thing. I’ve never had a cruise line say scissors were completely prohibited but I guess MSC is truly a different animal.
