  1. I’d love to add The Key but I doubt I can convince Andy. It’s currently $35.99 pp, per day. Remember, this was a “free” cruise. We already paid to upgrade the cabin and added excursions and dining pkg. I think I’ve maxed out my skills of persuasion!
  2. That’s good to know, thanks for the heads up. I really wish they’d keep those year round. My daughter had a great experience on Breeze Airways a few weeks ago to Orlando, even traveling with two toddlers. I’m just leery of booking with an airline that has limited flights per day and flies from limited airports, just in case a flight gets cancelled and you really need to be somewhere (like a cruise ship lol). At least with JetBlue & Southwest, you could always try to hop on something out of Boston or Hartford if need be.
  3. Hope your cousin is doing well and you & DH are able to enjoy the cruise. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on Edge as we’re on her in just a few weeks.
  4. Agree with all of you. We’ve also stayed at a couple of his Margaritaville Resorts and loved them. He really portrayed that island lifestyle vibe. I’m not a parrothead, but my middle DD and her husband are, so they decided this morning that their cookout tomorrow will be dedicated to Jimmy and Cheeseburgers In Paradise will be served. RIP Jimmy🌴
  5. I’m so sorry for the loss of your son’s Dad. Your son is fortunate to have you and his fiancé by his side. I wish him luck straightening out the financial situation, it can be daunting. Especially the Italian ones 😉 🇮🇹!
  6. Same here Debbie. Andy thinks he would go stir crazy with that many sea days. Which means he’d be driving me nuts so I don’t see one in our future.
  7. 🙂. We’re only in port from 8-5. This will be our first time in Aruba. I researched quickly this morning and more than likely we’ll spend a couple of hours at Eagle Beach, then explore the town a little bit (which will include a little shopping, naturally 😉) and probably get a drink somewhere before boarding. It’s a long way off but depending on what you end up doing for the day, maybe we can meet somewhere for a cold beverage. I’m curious to know if we really have met on a prior cruise!
  8. I’ll have to look, I wonder if we’re in Aruba the same day? I didn’t know you could combine offers. I may need to spend more than my usual $20/two minutes in the casino in the future 😂!
  9. The last few days I’ve been focused on planning out our days in Venice & Rome, then Barcelona post cruise. For our port stops, we’re doing excursions two of the days and DIY’ing the other days. Also, I don’t know if I mentioned it but Andy received another casino cruise certificate while we were on Independence a couple of weeks ago. We figured this would work perfectly into our usual 3 weeks in FL next Feb/March. Looking at the list, we narrowed down the cruises that interested us, deciding we would go with an Inside cabin to make this truly a free cruise (other than taxes & port fees). When Andy called the casino line to get information, he was informed that his offer had been upgraded. We logged in to review the upgraded offer list and were surprised to see many more options with the majority of them balcony cabins. Bottom line is we booked an 8 night cruise on Adventure out of PC on 3/1, going to Labadee, Aruba and Bonaire, in a balcony cabin for $185.26 in port fees & taxes! He only spent a little time, maybe 2 hours total, at the slots and ended up about $1,200 ahead. I have no idea what their matrix is for these offers, but I’ll take it!
  10. I guess I missed an earlier post about this. I wish her a successful surgery and easy recovery. And thank goodness it had not metastasized.
  11. I have two pairs, one I love and another older pair I’m no longer crazy about the style so they’ve become my ‘beaters’, just to wear working in the yard or whatever. I wasn’t aware of the built in readers option. I’m going to have to look into those.
  12. We had a couple of fantastic 9 night sailings on Explorer out of Bayonne back in March 2013 & Jan 2014. We also sailed NCL Gem 10 night from NYC in Feb 2017. During that cruise there was a big snowstorm in NY and we arrived to our car snowed and iced in at the Manhattan terminal parking. It took Andy forever to dig us out with a hand shovel, in his boat shoes no less!
  13. Whichever version you decide on, I’m sure it’ll be great. As for being videotaped on the JVD trip, I guess that’ll depend on how many Painkillers I have 😉😂. Just kidding, I’m good with it. Agree. You’re the professional Greg but I think we’ll all be happy to assist and make it a joint effort.
  14. I’ll be happy too! Also on this sailing are @jmh2006 @Sea Dog @Husky1987 and @mo&fran so you should be able to get multiple points of view. I believe Greg plans on doing an ‘as if’ Live review.
  15. Less than that. We leave Sept 24th for our Med cruise, return on Oct 9th and we’re home for a whole 10 days before heading to Ft Lauderdale and Adventure.
  16. We are finally home. Sorry for any birthdays, anniversaries, illnesses, etc I may have missed. It was my intention to keep up with at least reading the thread each night before bed, but I ended up just crashing every night. We flew home from Orlando yesterday and were pleasantly surprised to find a cloudy, 70 degree day. What a welcome relief after 14 straight days of mid-90’s and sunny with very little rain. I know mid-90’s is nothing compared to what others are experiencing around the country, but it was tough walking around amusement parks all day in that heat. My activity data shows we averaged about 8 miles per day walking. It was a great family vacation though and after eating out every single meal, plus wine or cocktails every night, I really need to detox! I’m looking forward to some healthy, home cooked dinners. And keeping up with the thread 🙂!
