  1. What a difference a day makes 🙁. Wish you could join us! Great pictures. I see you’ve joined the foot picture club here!
  2. @jmh2006 @Sea Dog @Husky1987 🎵oops, I did it again🎵. Adventure here we come! Using Andy’s casino certificate we were able to book a promenade room at a ridiculously low cost to us. I just couldn’t do an interior (even though promenade’s are interior) down on Deck 2 or 3. We will be on Deck 8. I’ll miss the balcony but following on the heels of our family August trip and the Med trip, it just wasn’t in the budget. Next up is booking Beach Club and JVD.
  3. @Sea Dog @jmh2006 This October thing is an actual possibility! TA extraordinaire gave me a nice price. Then we called the casino number because Andy has a free cruise certificate. Turns out, we can do it for only port charges which would be about $250, if we can deal with an inside cabin 😬🥴. Upgrading to a balcony brings the price higher than TA’s. We’re going to call back tomorrow morning to ask about OV and Promenade cabins.
  4. Thanks for the quick reply! I’m looking at Adventure of the Seas, 10/21/23 sail date. I wasn’t signed in at all.
  5. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but this isn’t working for me. The link just takes me to the Celebrity sign in page. The Google doc won’t let me type info for the cruise I’m looking at. Any help you can offer is much appreciated!
  6. How exciting Dani! It’s always fun to be planning a trip but this one even more so since it will also be a reunion. We’re on Edge 9/30 from Rome to Barcelona. I can’t believe we might’ve come so close to being on the same cruise!
  7. It never fails that as soon as I put away all my cold weather clothes and take out all the summer stuff we have a cold spell. It was 88 degrees yesterday and only 54 degrees today with a stiff breeze and even chillier tomorrow. Not nice Mother Nature.
  8. Kudos to your son! Seems we have another multi-sport athlete in the thread family, like @A&L_Ont’s Owen. @Husky1987 sorry to read about the fire at your home but thankful it wasn’t worse.
  9. So finally some pictures of the kitchen island project. First, the before photos, including blue tape we used as a guide for the placement of the new island. You can see it’s not only an unusual shape, but very oddly placed and not at all practical for cooking due to the distance from the sink and stove. The placement also meant the kitchen table had to be pushed too close to the far wall to allow for any type of China cabinet or hutch. (Old photo from last Christmas) This is the new island. Much larger, more functional and so much more storage. It also allows the table and chairs to be centered and room for a hutch. There’s still some discoloration in the hardwoods from the old island but that will eventually darken. I absolutely love the two deep drawers for all my pots and pans.
  10. @aussielozzie18 you pictures are just gorgeous. I remember talk a while back in this thread that you should publish a book of the photographs you take on your walks and hikes. These would make a wonderful addition to your ‘future book’ LOL! I for one would buy it in a heartbeat.
  11. Are you there for gambling or the Carpenter’s Legacy show? Or both lol. That’s a show I’d really love to see. Also belated 96th birthday wishes to your Mom. It sounds like she had a great celebration.
  12. Our oldest grandson Andrew had his band concert this week in which he had a brief solo. His Mom snapped this picture just before it started. This year he moved from clarinet to saxophone, which his Mom also played throughout Jr and Sr high school.
  13. I’m following along for your latest adventure. Wishing you a great cruise and some of your usual luck in the casino!
  14. Happy Birthday to @h20skibum Mark’s daughter and to @Ocean Boy! We have temperature’s in the mid 80’s today and tomorrow then only in the 60’s for the next week. Crazy spring weather patterns. After last weekends cookout, we realized we need to find a way to provide a shaded area around the pool for the grill and a table for food & drinks. We’ve been using a patio umbrella but it’s kind of a Mickey Mouse operation & doesn’t work great as the sun moves. So we ordered this yesterday. It’s scheduled to arrive next week, then my handy Andy can assemble it. It’s 6 ft deep by 12 ft wide so there should be plenty of room for the grill and a table, plus it has shelves on either side.
  15. Another cutie pie John! @Luckynana belated birthday wishes to your grandsons. And that prom picture? Stunning - both your granddaughter and the dress! It seems like many of us spent the past week, or at least the weekend, doing yard work. We had the kids & grands over Sunday for a cookout and the first swim of the year. Saturday and Monday were devoted to mulch and a lot of new plantings around the yard. Tomorrow I plan on doing all my patio pots and hanging baskets. The new island is done, I just need to take a few minutes to get some pictures when it’s not covered with stuff. I’m still in the process of bringing up serving dishes that previously had to be stored downstairs, but I now have room for them up here. We have another nice week coming up but we sure could use some rain. Oh, and like most of you I will always call it the Tappan Zee.
  16. Well like it or not, you’ve gotten a lot of responses! I am sorry for the loss of your dear friend and the heartless way you learned about it. But I really wanted to comment on your thoughts about the upcoming birthday. I turned 65 in March of 2022 and it honestly didn’t phase me. I’ve always felt and thought “it’s just a number”. But 66 was a little harder this year. I seem to have to keep reminding myself that it’s just a number. ( I suspect it has something to do with the fact that my Mom passed away at age 67.) So I (and some others here) know how you feel about those big numbers!
  17. @ReneeFLL beautiful orchid photos Renee. I wish I had a green thumb but unfortunately mine is more of a black thumb, I kill pretty much everything. Do you have a specific room for yours or can they be kept around the house? @dani negreanu thank you for sharing the cheesecake recipe! I love the idea of Greek yogurt to make it lighter and also the pistachio topping. We’ve been busy getting the yard and pool area ready for summer. My big project was to recover some patio cushions that had seen better days. We shopped around at Lowe’s, Home Depot, the local porch and patio store as well as Wayfair and could mir find any we liked in the right size. The interior’s cushion was still in good shape so because I have a sewing machine and some skills I took on the challenge. I found some outdoor fabric at Joann Fabrics. I successfully recovered a chair about 10 years ago so figured, how hard could this be? Well let me tell you, the next time these cushions need recovering we will just buy a new patio set LOL. They were an absolute b*%#*.
