Here in RI that’s a grinder. The exact same sandwich in PA where my oldest DD lives is called a hoagie.

We had friends over for dinner and card playing last night. I made filet mignon, although not @Sea Dog Greg’s recipe. I did mine in a cast iron skillet with butter & rosemary, seared on the stovetop and finished in the oven. They were fantastic. We also had baked potatoes and roasted green beans. The appetizer was my world famous stuffed clams with chorizo, known in RI as “Stuffies”. Okay maybe they’re not world famous, but they are raved about in our circle of friends & family. Friends brought a pastry assortment for dessert. Quite a bit of wine was consumed which may be why I lost at cards 😆 No picture of the main course, I was trying to get everything plated & served hot, but here’s one of the Stuffies.

Thank you for doing this. I’ve enjoyed your pictures and hearing about the differences in our experiences. Out of curiosity, did you enjoy week 1 more or week 2? Or were they the same? I’d also like to know which was your favorite port stop and why? I really wish Royal had more cruises out of Boston, it’s so darn convenient. We don’t have much interest in the New England cruises since some of those have port stops we can easily drive to in a few hours. There’s always Bayonne I guess.

Too bad you had to postpone. Hopefully she feels better by the weekend and her Mom can join in the celebration.

Almost every week he says he’s not going back. I just remind him he might as well continue and get as much as he can from it, especially since we met our medical deductible and out of pocket maximum with his surgery, so it’s free until the end of the year.

That’s incredible and courageous that she stood up and spoke about her Dad. The holidays will be so difficult for them. I hope hearing others stories helps them just a little.

Same here, although he does any outside grilling.

Wow, we had nothing like that in our JS. I wouldn’t have been happy about the condition of this cabin either. I’m glad they made it right for you, although more so for future guests since it took so long.

Great news about Ryan’s progress! His wrist is fully healed. He still goes to PT once a week, just trying to maximize his range of motion and strength but he’ll probably quit that soon. Even the therapist said it’s never going to be 100%. I’m not ready for this! But then I saw @h20skibum Mark’s comment about Buffalo possibly getting 3-6 feet of snow, so I should probably shut-up about the cold😀.

I’ve fallen behind again, story of my life LOL. I’ve just been busy getting things done for youngest DD’s 30th birthday celebration. We’re going out to a nice dinner Friday night along with middle DD, SIL and the 2 granddaughters. The birthday girl asked for a record player as her gift. I guess they’ve become popular again with young people. So we got that and yesterday I went album shopping. Target had a decent selection, I ended up getting her Adele’s “30” (how could I not get that one), Taylor Swift’s “Red” and Fleetwood Mac “Rumours”. Adding to her collection will be great for Christmas gifts. Which is another thing I need to get moving on. In other news, Andy had an appointment with Ortho doctor yesterday as he’s had hip & knee pain for quite a while that’s been getting worse lately. X-rays showed he has some arthritis in his right knee but “severe” arthritis in his right hip. He will need hip replacement but for now they’re going to try anti-inflammatory meds and PT. They also think the way he limps because of the hip is what’s contributing to the knee pain since the arthritis in his knee isn’t that bad. So we’ll see how he is after this course of treatment, he goes back in January for a follow up.

If you really get into Yellowstone, you have to also watch “1883”. It’ a mini-series prequel to the Yellowstone story and it’s excellent.

I hope your grandson improves enough to go home soon and the baby feels better too. Poor Mom & Dad must be exhausted.

I completed my 5 day quarantine yesterday, so today I donned a mask and ventured out to pick up a few things at the grocery store. It felt so good to put on a little makeup and some clothes other than sweatpants. I thought I might feel wiped out after my adventure but so far, so good.

We haven’t sailed with NCL since 2018, but are scheduled to be on the Encore 1/29/23. Is NCL currently doing Behind The Scenes Tours? If so, anyone know the cost and how you book? I read they’re included for Platinum and above, but we are Gold.
