  1. Love the Elvis costume! Beautiful shots sailing into Sydney. I’m with you Dani. I average about 7 total but I’m usually awake somewhere in the middle. I feel lucky if I can fall back asleep after waking up between 3 and 4 am!
  2. If anyone following along has any specific questions or anything in particular you’d like a picture of, please let me know and I’ll do my best. I’m planning to post general pictures of many areas of the ship, bar menus, drinks, food photos and of course a few from each port stop. Probably more from Puerto Plata because there’s really not much info available for it. Getting ready to watch Game 1 of the World Series tonight. I’m a Red Sox girl, but rooting for the Phillies here. Our oldest DD, SIL & three grandsons live in the suburbs west of Philly so we’re siding with them. I wonder if we’ll be able to catch games onboard?
  3. I was very excited to get into the app today and see MDR menus listed. I have all my meals picked out already! The only one I’m not excited about is day 5. Maybe we’ll check availability at one of the specialty restaurants or just hit the Windjammer that night. Or we could go to the MDR and I’ll order the Chops filet for the up charge. Have done this in the past and it’s been very good. We selected 1:00 pm check in time. I usually try for earlier but youngest DD who’s driving us to the port has a Halloween party tomorrow night. I figured we’d be considerate and not require her to get up too early Sunday morning!
  4. If there is one it’s so secret I don’t even know about it 😂! Hope to bump into you onboard.
  5. Thank goodness nothing like that! I hope your shoulder is feeling better.
  6. Everything’s going into the suitcases today! Is it by any chance a Samsung? It’s a common problem with them, ours is only 2 years old and we’ve had to reset it twice. I hope his repair works! We’ll just keep loving your free blogging here on CC 😉!
  7. If you see someone hobbling around the ship it’ll be me. We went to middle DD’s house last night for dinner and pumpkin carving. While setting the table, I stubbed my toe (the fourth toe next to the little one) on the leg of the wooden high chair. I mean really stubbed it. Iced it right away and again when we got home. It’s still tender this morning and hurts to walk, but there’s no bruising and I can move it so I don’t think it’s broken. Today begins the Tetris game of putting everything in the suitcases. There can be no lumps, bumps or empty spaces. There are certainly worse things that could’ve happened than injuring my toe. The good news is we sail the day after tomorrow!
  8. I hadn’t considered that we’d be docking at the Pan Am pier. We were planning to take a taxi or Uber to the hotel anyway, so it’ll just be a longer ride. Today was getting my nails done, tomorrow is a pedicure and stop at the liquor store for wine. We also need to print set sail passes, hotel confirmation, airline confirmations and a copy of the trip insurance we purchased. While everything is available in our phones by email or apps, I’m more comfortable having paper copies “just in case”. Sunday looks like a beautiful weather day in Boston. I hope those arriving early to see the city enjoy a great weekend, Mother Nature is certainly doing her part!
  9. @Sunshine3601 🤞your new refrigerator is delivered as scheduled. Appliance & car breakdowns really stink, especially nowadays with supply chain and staffing issues. @LuckynanaCongratulations! Such wonderful accomplishments by your grandchildren! @grapau27 wishing you a very Happy Birthday Graham 🎂!!
  10. Great suggestion, thank you. We tested out the airplane mode/wi-Fi settings last night and I believe we have it all set for wi-fi calling and texting. The girls all have iPhones and they’re really the only ones we want to be able to text.
  11. Us too Maryann. It is. 104 Fortaleza St, where all the shops are.
  12. Took me a minute but I got it. You win the prize for most clever well wishes!
  13. I also started pulling together odds and ends, most will go in a backpack or tote bag. I still need to pick up my two bottles of wine. Even though I have the drink package, I still like to be able to just pour myself a glass to sit on the balcony or to sip on while I do my makeup before dinner. Today I’m off to Target for a few last minute things, including some rain ponchos I hope will not be needed. Please note my “vintage” Kindle, circa 2009 or 2010 think? My whole family makes fun of me but it still works and I’m used to it. It’s like the Atari of e-readers LOL. I also ordered these travel type journals from Amazon. I wish I’d done this several cruises ago.
  14. One day closer! Packing edit is almost done. The long range weather forecast shows we may have some rain towards the end of the cruise, meaning St Thomas and San Juan. Hopefully it changes for the better before then. No our bedroom isn’t decorated in a “Cars” theme, this is the room my grandsons sleep in when they’re here.
  15. We’ve been to Barrachina on every visit to San Juan and we’ll definitely stop there again this trip. I agree their pina colada’s are amazing and I really love the ambience of that little courtyard where the bar is.
  16. I’m reaching out to the tech experts here, or anyone smarter than me actually LOL. Before our Anthem cruise this past April, someone gave me iPhone advice. I thought I had taken a screenshot but can’t find it. To use Voom, and avoid any unwanted charges, do we put our phones in airplane mode? And will this allow iMessage for texting back home and possibly WiFi calling? I know there was some setting we needed to put our phones in.
  17. Okay, okay, pictures of food, menus and most importantly, mojitos? Raices is now the #1 choice for dinner in San Juan. Mojitos while waiting for our name to be called? Sign me up!
  18. Like @HBE4 I only found one in the original post, so thanks for clarifying. I’m usually very detail oriented but I find I’m less so as I get older. Andy would disagree. He thinks I still find plenty of “details” to nag him about 🙂.
  19. We’ve not been on this ship either but have sailed Explorer twice and we loved her. To be honest, the only thing I’m slightly hesitant about is how the older balcony will be. More enclosed than the newer ships? At least that’s how I recall Explorer’s. But it certainly won’t ruin my trip!
  20. So funny story. Andy asked me today if Voyager has a flowrider. I said I wasn’t sure but looked it up and told him that it does. He said “ I think I’m going to give it a try this time” ( he’s never been on one). Now most of you don’t know this but he fell off a ladder in June and suffered a nasty broken wrist and a fractured rib. After two surgeries on the wrist and spending almost 3 months in either a soft cast or brace, and still going to PT, he’s thinking about trying the flowrider🤔?? Needless to say, after we “discussed it” he won’t be trying the flowrider😂
