  1. Thank you. If you went, how was the coffee?
  2. Would like to know what venue the Elite breakfast of the Beyond is held in.
  3. I listen to music on my headphones while working out in the gym and as a general rule find the music blasting from the gym speakers from the ceiling disturbing due to the high volume level. I usually ask the gym personnel to turn down the volume that is met with various responses. I’m curious what the experience was in the Beyond gym as I am book on there in January.
  4. Thank you, we did the package so your last sentence is applicable.
  5. Can specific speciality restaurant reservations be made prior to the sailing date and if so how far in advance.
  6. Would love to hear opinions on ranking of the Beyond specialty restaurants as we are booked on our first Beyond cruise next January.

    WIFI info

In the description of the Concierge Lounge it states free wi-fi so my assumption is each cabin passenger can be on the internet simultaneously as long one passenger is accessing the internet from the Concierge Lounge; is this correct?
  8. Nothing crazy about questioning a policy that can be interpreted as discriminatory to those that choose not to drink alcohol.
  9. Totally agree; I can see the cruise line being sued on this policy as many refrain from alcohol by choice.
  10. To be clearer using O air but want to come in the day before and then go back to the airport the day of debarkation to pick up the included transfer.
  11. If we fly in a day early and stay in a hotel in London can we go back to the airport the day of departure and pick up our included Oceana transfer to Southampton as that seems intuitively fair since we are already paying for that transfer in our O based fare.
  12. Agree very few passengers are masking on crowded elevators, bars, theater, etc. It will not surprising that there may be a number of Covid cases as a result but that is the personal choice we all make daily.
  13. I am on the cruise in Aqua class on deck 9. My expectation was after 2.5 years I dry dock that the cabins would be made ready for passenger occupation this cruise but sadly not the case. As mentioned the a/c is not cooling adequately, our veranda door was off the track, the garbage bin in the bathroom (strangely the only one in the cabin) is broken, the cabin steward informed us he does not empty the mini bar (day two and still waiting). Registered complaints with cabin steward and called guest relations to no avail. Ended up going to guest relations last night at 11 PM to get cabin issues address and they sent repair men (oh and by the way we were out of the cabin from 5 PM- 10:30 PM last night and the room steward had not even made the cabin up- bed not made, morning towels still on the floor, etc.). We have cruised on Celebrity many times but not since the pandemic. It will be an one and done on the Infinity for me- ship is ready to be retired. Booked on Oceana next summer on the Vista out of London which I will start looking fwd to as the Infinity experience is lacking for me.
  14. We are docking in Key West tomorrow and looking for lunch recommendations within walking distance of the port. Prefer a restaurant with outdoor seating and open to any cuisine though we enjoy grilled fish.
  15. The original posts stated that they assume they have Covid but I don’t a follow up where there was a test to confirm that self assessment. Seems like a what if situation without a validation of actually having Covid.
  16. Thanks, would be interesting to know if Celebrity would actually grant a religious exemption as cruise lines are having a challenging time mitigating covid with all the protocols that are in place. Outside of children who are not eligible for the vaccine I am not interested in cruising with the unvaccinated.
  17. Per the Celebrity app it states all guests over 12 years old must be fully vaccinated with no mention of exemptions.
  18. What does Florida being a “free state” mean? The last I checked all the States of the Union are “free”.
  19. My point is everyone can decide what fees make sense for them and what is nominal or not as I don’t need the cruise to make that determination (i.e. just state the fee). As long time cruises may recall when specialty restaurant fees started they were originally couched as nominal as well in all their promotional and marketing material.
  20. A component of the cruise business model is revenue generated from sources beyond the cruise passenger fee (captive audience so makes business sense to seek passenger more goods and services to increase revenue). I always find it amusing that no matter the amount of the fee charged the cruise lines always couch it as a “nominal” fee.
  21. Now that various cruise lines are again requiring indoor masking on their ships does anyone know what Celebrity current masking policy is as the situation is very fluid. Also if indoor masking is required are there any venues excluded such as the gym and the solarium (indoor pool area)?
  22. Thank you; I scrolled right by it but now see the menus.
  23. I am sailing on the Infinity later this month and have the app though I do not see any menus displayed.
  24. I agree there is no transparency in the whole process and I view this 18% "service charge" as just an increase in price that is most probably going directly to the cruise line and not the wait staff. At the beginning of Specialty Restaurants on cruises the entire fee was supposedly a tip as all cruise passengers already paid for all their meals in the cruise fee (would have been clearer to say the main dinning room credit is say $30 for dinner and the specialty restaurant surcharge above and beyond that is say another $40 so there was some logic to support the fee). Now the passenger is basically paying full price for a restaurant meal, getting zero credit for the meal they did not eat in the main dinning room and to add insult to injury paying an 18% service charge that people are not even clear is actually a tip and therefor tipping on top of that. To each their own but I have no interest.
  25. We are booked on the Infinity and to me it came down to value and convenience. For instance, one criterion I quantity is the upcharge for Aqua class from a regular Veranda cabin as the only real benefit I care about is eating at Blu and if that price delta makes sense to me (as it did for booking my Infinity cruise) I book Aqua class. As long as the ship is clean and the ratio of crew to passengers is adequate it should be an enjoyable cruise.
