  1. The rainforest was fantastic with huge waterfalls, a light, cool mist from time to time and tropical foliage, some with 10-foot long leaves.
  2. Today is Dominica, first thing I learned is I've been mispronouncing it. Not like Dominican Republic. I have a city tour, visit the rain forest and the botanical gardens.
  3. Dinner in MDR. I was happy with both the pasta and ribs. Lost half of what I won over the previous two days and shut down the casino, then had yummy pizza.
  4. The "Father of Antigua", who successfully led the petition and legislation to grant Antigua independence from Great Britain in 1976.
  5. Next stop was Frye's Beach for a Carnival-quality lunch and 1.5 hours beach time. The beach was great, the rum punch with local rum was good. The food, notsomuch.
  6. Our next stop was a pineapple plantation. You see our tourguide standing next to a very spiky sandbox tree where the Brits would chain the slaves to the tree and beat them. The baby pineapple was cute, and the sample was better than the best fresh organic pineapple I've ever had at Wholepaycheck Foods.
  7. The tourguide had a lot of British bashing in his monologue which didn't go over too well with the 4 Brits and 2 expats on the bus. Everytime theyd grumble at one of his jokes he'd say something funny like "oh, we didn't think you'd come back. The Antiguans won their independence from the British in 1976, more on that later.
  8. Our first stop was at a surviving member of British colonization home, on a mountaintop. She told us alot about her family history, but nothing of historical interest.
  9. Heavenly Chaos Tours...they have 5 or 6 different excursions and pack a couple hundred people into a courtyard without individual tour signs so when one tour gets called to proceed to their bus, it's like "human bumper cars". The pier area is pretty without the "Carnival Shopping Gauntlet".
