  1. Bonsai Teppanyaki and Bonsai Sushi are next, I survived the shopping gauntlet but I still smell the perfume.
  2. The atrium is beautiful but not huge. The symbol of Venice, the winged lion, apparently is not impressed with the string trio and appears to either be mooning them or ready to take a dump.
  3. Then there are alot of shops walking toward the middle of the ship and atrium. Alot. This is just a bit...
  4. Teatro Rosso, the main theater, will be showing the Super Bowl tonight as well as the big screen on Lido and other places. All the way forward, this pic was taken from deck 5, the balcony seats of the theater.
  5. I like the layout of this ship for food. Except for MDR, all the food is on decks 5 and 10. I'll be walking deck 5 bow to stern and stopping at Teppanyaki to make a rez next. Pics of deck 5 coming.
  6. Here's tonight's MDR menu. I will probably do MDR tonight and tomorrow, then Teppanyaki and other venues beginning Wednesday.
  7. We just got an announcement that sailaway is pushed back 2 hours due to "strong currents in the Hudson River"
  8. My cabin... I'm on deck 9 near midship elevator so it's a short walk up one deck to Tomodorro and all the Lido deck grub. Shower doors are nicer than Mardi Gras and bathroom is much bigger. I think Venezias bathroom is best of any Carnival ship I've sailed.
  9. Boarding was painfully slow because they only had 2 dogs to sniff everyone's carry-on luggage and we had to stand back and wait for the inspection, which was done in groups of about 60 people at a time. I think this was my 4th sailing out of Manhattan and the port shows its age.
  10. 2 blocks from Penn Station I spotted The Edge viewing platform 100 stories up, and caught a glimpse of The Vessel sculpture.
  11. Walked out of Penn Station and I immediately got that wonderful feeling I get every time I visit NYC. Walked across 8th Avenue to taxis waiting and the taxi fare from 33rd and 8th to 48th and 12, where Venezia is docked, was $14. My daughter dropped me off at Union Station to avoid the expensive parking there, but I will take the subway home after the cruise and Manhattan.
  12. I caught the Regional Amtrak at Union Station this morning and arrived at the recently refurbished Penn Station just before noon. Penn Station is beautiful.
  13. I've only been to Magen's Bay Beach on St. Thomas and loved it. If you've been there, will you compare/contrast it to Coki Beach?
  14. Welcome to the VIFP club. The F in VIFP stands for FUN, hence the ducks. Venezia offers a very-toned-down experience with respect to Carnival-style FUN IMO. I'm sailing on her in three days! How you remembered so much detail about so many different aspects of the cruise is truly impressive, and your communication style and thread organization deserve a bravo (or WAHOO! on Carnival). FANTASTIC REVIEW, THANK YOU.
  15. This is the fourth marijuana email I received re: this cruise in the past ten days. I think I received two before, but never four. I'm not sure if the emails are identical because they are loooong and I stopped reading and just browsed to see if anything was different the last three emails (I don't think so). What are they rounding up the usual suspects without evidence? I thought the days of "I don't know, your honor, it must have been second-hand smoke." were over.
  16. I have one more excursion to buy, for St. Lucia. I just now logged on to carnival.com to see if they have one I want before comparing to independent local operators, and was delighted, momentarily, to see I can get discounted internet if I purchase the excursion and internet at the same time. Momentarily... Why would clicking on the Excursions link take me to a page with an expired code? 🤨 Colleen, get your minions working on this!
