  1. And since we don't rejoin until Barcelona, once we bail in LA....we are not sure what will happen with our planned rejoining now. 😮
  2. Starting to enter the Beagle Channel, on the way to Ushuaia. World Navigator right behind us...twin to the World Traveler that was in Paradise Cove Antarctica with us. Pretty ship. Will be nice to check her out when we get to the dock.
  3. nice! 🙂 I just could not get that close with the crappy phone camera...thanks!
  4. Navy boat waiting for the rubber dingy to rejoin them. Lighthouse and station on the ridge . Can't quite see it, but a monument on the top of the cliff as well. The actual end...of Cape Horn. And we are on our way back to head into the passage. Once again lucky to have our balcony on the starboard side. Bucky tried to get some shots on deck 12 and 13, but was elbowed out of the way. Sigh...glad I stayed warm and dry in the cabin! 😉
  5. Ahoy Navy pilots! Pilot is on board now, and will be with us all the way to Valparaiso Chili (end of mini leg #2). Pulling a nice tour of duty for 8 days. 😉
  6. Seems to be some rather rugged and tough sailing enthusiasts down here at the bottom of the world! Still waiting for the pilot boat to come around us.
  7. Current position. Navy boat on our port side about to launch a rubber boat dingy to board here on our starboard side with pilot to join us. Then we will be able to get closer to Cape Horn. My pictures are bit far way so far...hoping to get some better shots soon.
  8. Thanks Mindy my friend! Wish you were with us! These are fantastic photos...love the little "Rock Hoppers". Thanks so much for sharing! Looking forward to our Penguin tour out of Punta Arenas. 🙂
  9. I like the route with the brown colors and red line. Assuming that is our route perhaps? Just barely starting to see a bit of land on the horizon now. Looking forward to the interior passage soon. 🙂
  10. We enjoyed a 4 top window seat in there yesterday for lunch. Rather limited window seats. Had such a great lunch and good time! My steak was perfection! The last 2 "Cheers with and Officer"...my steak was just nasty. 😒
  11. We passed up what I assume is the entrance to the channel to Ushuaia...looks like a little first visit to Cape Horn. Maybe do a little loop de loop? Cloudy with rain in the area...can't quite see land yet, but is just beyond the horizon. Balmy 41 degrees outside right now. 🥶
  12. Current position: Doing the actual "round the horn" part of our journey now. About 5 am passed by that last "big snow capped rock" at the end of the tail. Should be some very pretty sailing by this afternoon on our way to Ushuaia. And we finally received confirmation that we will be docked, instead of tendered there. Was way too weird that we would have been tendered there (as was previously listed) for an overnight. They have a huge pier there. The word was that something to do with a gathering of the Argentine Navy had made it questionable. We will see. Definitely be an interesting cruise today. 🙂 It is 7:18 am our time right now...since we continue west, I am assuming we will have a time change soon.
  13. Oh wow...yes, I did a lot of research on this protected park. Soooo looking forward to it...and happy to hear you enjoyed it! 🤗
  14. Thanks...that is the one tour...with the ferry in mind, that I know could be a bit rocky on that smaller boat. Me...I will be OK, but I have brought liquid Dramamine for Bucky that works faster than the pills. Thanks for the info! 🙂
  15. Beautiful!! And yes, we love our crew members. I have already had some come forward tonight to thank me....but my reply....was instead.... "Thank you!" for all they do for us. 🥰
  16. Since we did not get to enjoy a lunch on shore, we went to Giovanni's for lunch. 1/2 price special, and 40% off a bottle of wine. Invited new dear friends Kim and Fred to join us, and had a fantastic time! Best thing was the ship had invited many crew members, including officers, and the entire medical team to have lunch on them. 90% of the restaurant were crew members. I was so impressed, I stood up and made the announcement of how happy the ship did that for them...to a nice round of applause. 🥰
  17. Ehh...we always expect it. As I always say..."poop happens". You expect these deviations...and are happy when things actually do work out. Take it as it comes. 😉
  18. Had one of those experiences once while on little ship Majesty when Coco Cay was a tendered port. Big storm came up, we fortunately saw it coming as we were sitting at the far other end of the island on "the point". Quickly walked back to jump on a tender to get back, and then all "H" broke loose. Just can't predict when Mother Nature wants to unleash her fury. 😮
  19. We have a tour to visit the Penguins on Magdalena Island out of Punta Arenas Chili. Looking forward to it. 🙂
  20. Celebrity turning around to continue to chase that Rainbow...but realized it had come to see us to spread the love. 😉
  21. Celebrity Eclipse is also here, having arrived earlier than we did. She has cancelled the port visit as well. Though I think she got in closer, as she was trying to chase down that rainbow. 😉 Actually already getting rougher and more windy now. Sadly...that is Mother Nature who makes those decisions...good or bad.
  22. Just as I feared from the weather report I had been reading the last few days....our visit to Falklands cancelled. It is rougher here than when they cancelled Devil's Island. Not sure why he even tried to make it here...but alas...he did try. Captain also mentioned, even if we DID try to tender...would not be a guarantee that we could make it back to the ship...should it get worse. I don't want to become a new citizen of the Falklands either. 😮 Sooo this is as close as we will get to the Falklands, on this adventure anyway.
  23. Have you seen Sam Elliot around the ship...I have...I am sleeping with him. 😄
