  1. That is awesome that you didn't you think you were entitled.
  2. No, I'm not ok. I'm sitting on my ass all damn day, unable to go to the gym, unable to drive, unable to take my own dogs for a walk. Excuse me if I think its UNFAIR that the cruise line gets to keep 10k and not give me the points. I don't really care what other loyalty programs do. I received a 7500.00 credit on American air for my flight. I didn't lose any other money on any other reservations except 217.00 on airbnb. So, my concern is not what other loyalty programs do or do not offer. I'm really not the first person to come to CC and proclaim something unfair. Can't we just leave it at that. Why do I have to be called "entitled". Its a JOKE at this point.
  3. My concern isn't with other cruise lines, its with this cruise line.
  4. Maybe if they would have given me the points, I'd stay loyal.
  5. Our next cruise on X is Galapagos Oct 2025. I don't think Elite matters much on that cruise. No more X cruises for us unless things change drastically with the line.
  6. Did I say it wasn't on me? No, I didn't so this comment is not necessary.
  7. Actually, there were some issues with the excursions and weather on this cruise so we're going to do the reef on our own. February doesn't seem like a good time to do the reef. I think we'll go in November. Private excursions would not work with our roll call group due to tender times, so we were forced to book very expensive excursions through celebrity.
  8. Well apparently I just accepted the default cruise cancellation coverage of 5k. I would have had to raise it to 10 or 15k. ( I'll do that next year when it renews). Honestly, I've never had to cancel a trip before. My main concern when I chose insurance is getting hurt away from home or medical evacuation. I also have a Geo Global policy. I guess I was over insured that way, but under insured in Trip Cancellation. Thankfully, Chase has a much better policy. I did get an airline credit and refunds for all of Celebrity Excursions I booked as well as the private excursions. I only received a partial refund from Airbnb.
  9. Yeah, thats a good point. I booked with a well known cruise TA. Who by the way, just provided me with my cancellation notice after I asked about 5x. I needed that notice for the insurance.
  10. I DIDN"T ask for my money back. I knew the policy was 100 percent for cancellation that late. I don't think its fair that I don't get the Captains club points since X got my 10k. I feel like I paid for the cruise, why not give me the points. Those points would have moved me from Select to Elite.
  11. Accident happened on Feb 10th. We were supposed to leave for Sydney on Feb 19th. Cruise left Sydney on Feb 25th. Disembarkation is this morning( Sydney time). We were supposed to have a trip to the Blue Mountains today and fly home on the 8th.
  12. Thank you. The entire experience was devastating. I've never broken a bone, never had to rely on my spouse to do everything for me. Never had to sit on a sofa all day( bored out of my mind), watching the roll call group go on with the cruise( a bucket list cruise for sure). I'm still taking pain meds 3.5 weeks later. I can't bear weight for another 3 weeks. I have months of PT ahead of me. Jeez, why do I even post here. Its MY OPINION. I'm entitled to it. I feel its UNFAIR that I paid X 10k and I won't even get the points.
  13. I sound entitled because I want the Captain's club points because I paid Celebrity 10k? Yeah, ok. I haven't been reimbursed by insurance yet. Bottom line is X was paid for the cruise that I didn't take.( they also could have sold the room again) Why shouldn't I get the points?
  14. I didn't know that my yearly insurance policy only covered 5k in cruise cancellation( for the entire year). The cruise alone was 10k, not to mention the other expenses I incurred. My chase credit card insurance is much better than the Allianz.
  15. Firstly, I'm female and my insurance is with Allianz( not purchased through the cruise) and my Chase preferred card. I filed the claim with Chase since coverage is higher. Your reasoning doesn't make sense. I'm sure there are folks who've had to cancel who didn't have any insurance. Its also interesting to note that I paid for a move up upgrade 2 weeks before the accident. They received an additional 2600 from me for a move up from Aqua to a Sky Suite.
  16. I had to cancel our Great Barrier reef cruise 2 weeks before the cruise due to a broken ankle/tib/fib. I do have travel insurance. What doesn't seem fair is that Celebrity is going to keep our 10k and yet I don't get the Captain's Club points. Why? Because I didn't take the actual cruise. That doesn't seem fair to me. I would have reached Elite after this cruise.
  17. So true. I despised the stop in Labadee. It was a replacement for Key West due to "weather". Anyway, my sea pass card was deactivated while I was there, another member of my roll call had their credit card info stolen( he never used the card, it was on his person while on the "island"). The vendors were very aggressive. Pregnant stray dogs were roaming around. The food that was offloaded from the ship sat outside in the heat until it was moved to the restaurant area. I would never chose an itinerary that had this as a stop.
  18. I said NCL one time with friends who were in Haven. They invited us along for 1 dinner, 1 breakfast and priority tendering. The restaurant had all the fresh berries( none on the buffet). They had the melon cut up for them. Totally different experience for them vs. our balcony experience. Btw, I love Crystal River. Love the manatees.
  19. We did Bermuda on Oceania in August 2023. The ship was very small( Insignia) and very boring. Food was not as good as our first O cruise in Feb 2022. We were supposed to go to St. George's, that didn't happen due to weather. We spent 2 nights in Hamilton. We were there on a Sunday, so everything was closed. The weather coming back was pretty bad and a lot of people were sea sick. I did vlog that trip if anyone wants to read it.
  20. Did you look through the thread? We made it in plenty of time for a 1030 flight.
  21. I resent it. I emailed you from the hospital when I was doped up on pain meds. I hope it makes sense. We do have Chase Sapphire preferred. I found out after I sent the email about that insurance.
  22. I'm so sorry to hear that. I also came down with Covid for the first time while in Paris in Dec 2023. (I know I "caught" it on the Tube in London, everyone was coughing and sneezing and not a mask to be seen. It sucks having it on vacation. I did have a booster in Oct 2023 and had an entire pharmacy with me, including covid meds.
  23. @Jim_Iain I did send you an email. Thanks for the info about the reef. I have to wait until I see my dr. on Friday before I submit all the paperwork for the travel insurance. I haven't even thought about rescheduling this cruise. I still can't believe X gets to keep my 9500.00 : (
  24. Oh my gosh, I feel for your husband I can't even deal with one ankle and a tib fib fracture. How is he dealing with both legs?
