This is great news. tired of seeing workers having to wear masks while others and party attendees dont. sends a pretty bad messaged in my opinion. Ill happily tell any cruise worker you don't have to wear one for me.

Santa Marta is a stop on our upcoming panama canal cruise and was looking forward to just walking around the town. Can you walk to old colonial part of town frrom cruise pier? Any recommendations? Our cruise line NCL doesnt have many excursions.

So im a little over 180 days out and was wondering if anyone knows, on average when NCL cancels cruises? I was going to look at alternatives just in case.

Annnnnddddd the CDC just changed their suggestions again today. no quarantine if infected. just wear a mask unvaxxed people same guidance as vaxxed no longer necessary to screen those without symptoms.

That's quite unnerving to hear. Sorry your booking for the cruise that will be still sailing was canceled last minute. I would hope NCL improves their policies on this. They clearly see the bookings and know the crew to passenger ratio. Certainly not cool but its certainly a way to improve bottom line if canceling cruises for those who also booked air. I thought NCL bought airfare blocks from airlines around the time of sail of the cruise, kind of like buying a future in futures trading.

Panama city to colon panama. website says if unvaxxed you need to test negative b4 entry, if vaxxed no test required. the virtual proctor info is great info !

hey there all fellow cruisers, so ive been out of the loop for awhile and was wondering if there are still restrictions in port. i guess it depends on what port but i remember years ago there was talk of no roaming and getting off the ship to do your own thing. has that changed much?

Great shots. I wish I would have known and looked into this when we went through the canal on the star back in 2018. we are booked on the jewel next february, if the cruise actually happens i will look into this for sure. in 2023 we are going to opposite way we went with the star. love the height difference in the locks on the atlantic side. very dramatic!

Since panama is not a us port, do we still have to take a cv19 test before boarding? NCL has testing for US , Canada, and Greece.

does doing a two day deviation before cruise usually get one in town two nights before cruise?

Question for the cruisers out there that have flown in 2 or more days early. How did you manage and structure your covid test? I booked a cruise late Feb 2023 We are flying in 2 days before. Now I may be second guessing myself to do possible complications of finding a testing source in the embarkation city before the cruise. In our case it will be panama city. We may just fly in night before. I guess I dont understand all the testing as the port we are leaving out of doesnt require testing as long as you are vaxxed. Same with the ports we are going to. We are using NCL air package.

Ok cool, Ive read a variety of articles and they all seem to have various opening dates as there have been delays from Covid shutdowns to material/supply issues. Some opening dates projected to be as far into future as May 2023.

Anyone heard any current news or updates on this port opening?

not sailing but have sailed in the past and spice h20 always had good music and shows back in the day.

yes, it appears I may have looked at a posting from march 2021. Thanks for the info. Im just nervous my cruise may be cancelled. Ive already done the panama canal but this time going the other way and hitting the abc islands, cr, and 2 stops in columbia. just nervous as prices seem low for those cruises starting in panama city and ending in colon. Just itching to cruise again as it will be over 3 years if this cruise holds and doesnt get cancelled like a few others we had over the years.

Hey, just checking if anyone has any news of ships sailing out of panama or even stopping there as a port stop? NCL has many cruises starting out of there but I believe panama is still closed to travelers so not sure whats going on. Its odd NCL is still taking reservations. Anyone know any news?

Hello All. Wondering if anyone can recommend a room for 3 adults. oceanview or balcony. Its hard to discern on deckplans. Family rooms don't seem to be larger but offer only fold down beds. Leaning towards balcony for that extra room if needed. Thanks in advance.
