  1. My wife and I just did the 3 day/ 4 day back to back, and the Chops filet was absolutely wonderful- previous cruises was just a step better than "edible". We raise our own beef at home, and are usually disappointed when ordering steak out ANYWHERE- but hands down, the Allure Chops had it goin on mid April! Impressed!
  2. We live on a small farm and raise angus cross beef cattle. The cost of feeder steers have about doubled since January. It's no surprise that prices at restaurants both on land and at sea are up. Saw a reel that Oasis moves 12ft on 1 gallon of fuel. With diesel prices where they are- not sure its demand as much as overhead driving prices as high as they are. Elections have consequences.
  3. Don't worry about passenger space in lifeboats. Plenty headboards to go around- but remember, to all you Roses out there- SCOOT over and let Jack on! 🙂
  4. 2022 on Oasis had a balloon drop in the Promenade, theme music, etc. Was pretty cool.
  5. After readiing all the responses- seems "1/2 and 1/2" is appropriately named. 1/2 seem to have no problem getting it, and 1/2 can't no matter what. 🙂
  6. Virgin Cuba Libre 😅 Sheldon Cooper
  7. We collect the model from the Royal Shop of each ship we sail and display them on a multi shelf display, along with the Crystal block we received, our Diamond and Diamond + pins on the same shelf as the ship were we turned each, and any special momento's we might collect (duck). Wasn't going to at 1st, and still having to rebook a couple cruises to get the model... but we really like how it turned out. To each their own!
  8. Just wait til people start putting pool towels down to reserve their seats in the Dining room..... then there will REALLY be an interesting thread.
  9. I was last at Coco Cay end of March, and was really surprised that the Beach Club wasn't serving Coco Loco's at all- and Capt Jacks- the bartender had to scramble to come up with some. For years, they were being practically poured down everyone's throats. I still try to get 1 each trip- just for old time sakes!
  10. Neither is crying about having to sit in a lounger on the top deck, yet here we are.
  11. Why are people afraid to walk a few steps? By the looks of a lot of cruisers, might actually do them some good. Seems there are always a ton of loungers available on the top deck. There are even bar staff waiters if you don't want to walk 25 steps for your next drink. For those commenting about not needing a lounger if they are in the pool- if you aren't in the pool, why do you need a lounger next to it? How about seats in the bar? If you're not pounding a drink every 10 minutes, should you be forced to vacate your seat?
  12. Oh geez- based on what you've said you liked, you would be bored outta your mind on the Enchantment. We just got off an 8n outta B'more- and we LOVED it- however, we knew this was just going to be a relaxation cruise on the aft. We've said her 1 time before- and really had a good time, with an "older crowd". However, as we were discussing how much we still enjoyed this baby ship (parked next to the Wonder at Coco Cay was hilarious!) - we both commented how for any sort of transatlantic, we would want some more amenities- such as mentioned above- 270, Music Hall, etc. There really isn't many places for a snack either- and yes, she IS starting to show her age. I was determined to go outta B'more since only an hour from home, so we gave the ol girl a ride. For shorter cruises, I don't see an issue for what WE like- but between the two- for a transatlantic- everyday and twice on Sundays- Anthem wins hands down.
  13. The $50 OBC is a nice payment for the research participation. No way this was a "glitch"- too put together. Maybe a premature release with a bogus price attached- but they got to see how well received it would be.
  14. Buffalo Trace all over on Oasis in July and Freedom in October. No Crown anywhere. Best I saw was 4 Roses in the Casino, but she wouldn't open it. "Display Bottle" only.
  15. Supply chain has also caught some ship merchandise. We are the goofy ones that not only have a display area for the blocks we earn, but we also try to buy one of the $50 model ships from the Logo store on each new ship we sail. Were on Freedom for a b2b this past week, and no models, no magnets- all stuck in China. Still think they should be able to be purchased (outside of others wanting 3 times the amount on Ebay). Guess we'll wait a couple years and book Freedom again! 🙂
  16. If you are going down and back- you'll have the same views, just in different directions. 🙂
  17. Unless you are in a Genie suite- the only beer stocker is you- can get some beer in the AM unopened and take back to the room for later.
  18. Side note- in the pub on Oasis earlier in July, I notice that the bartenders were pooling their tips in the same jar. Seemed to negate the "special service" feel most tip for, but to each their own. I tipped the same regardless- if they want to share, then who am I to argue.
  19. Norwegian dropped their vaccine mandate, so assume Royal will be quickly following.
  20. If you were just positive- there is no reason to do anything different, or wear a mask, or not go. You will be the safest you've been- data shows its still the current B.A.5 variant- and no current signs of a major change. Natural immunity is a real thing- enjoy it!
  21. Royal suddenly sees a surge in 4 day / 3 day back to back bookings. 😉
  22. Sushi was open for lunch with reservation last week, yes.
  23. Oasis Lagoon is a pretty cool pool/swim up bar that has a dj - gets the younger crowd going at least. 🙂
  24. Jul 1- Jul 8th- Waited behind 1 person bygoing to Chops immediately upon boarding to book our week of specialty. Not bad at all. Then, usually, changing them if you wind up with conflicts aren't impossible- especially if flexible to later dining times. Yes- each person on the UDP gets $20 at Playmakers- and with the amount of food you get, that is actually hard to hit. We have also gone several times in 1 day (onion rings and nachos are pretty darn good!)- never a problem or a charge. Hibatchi is $10 regardless, but kinda cool at sea- one of my moans about Oasis- no views in any of the specialty dining places- all inward facing!
