  1. Hi, here is a question, if you buy this package for 5 bottles, do you get 5 bottles of wine OR do you get a DISCOUNT on 5 bottles of wine? Thank you. Jo
  2. Hi Mic and Rosie Canberra. I will not be at this cruise (this is just a way to get in contact with you) but I met you on an Azamara Cruise in October 2022. I'm from the Netherlands and you thought I looked a lot like your aunt. I like to mail you about things I found out in the family. Don't know if it's a connection but you'll never know. You can mail me on jokedotsmithatcasemadotnl. Thank you and....all the best for 2024. Grtz, Jo Smith
  3. We have a lot of problems with our loyalty points but we will try to manage it while we'll be onboard. (in 10 days). My husband has an account on Azamara.com and no points. Today I decided to register on Azamara.com and to my big surprise I got the points (and still have the old Celebrity number). Now we only have to manage the points of DH and that will be a lot easier now, I presume. Happy and....counting the days!
  4. Good to read bidding is possible again.
  5. All my loyalty points have gone. I mailed several times: no response. My cruise is in 4 weeks, I called Azamara yesterday. The office you call can't change anything because the old system and the new system don't connect. But...miraculously they can see it when you board. Presumably they still have the old system onboard. The man on the phone told me I didn't have to worry, once I am onboard everything will be allright and I will have all my points back. He advised to take evidence with me (like a copy of an old booking or an overview with your points). I also have a little OBC " problem " (my booking says $800 and the website says $300) but I will take a print of my booking with me as an evidence. So no worries anymore, just wait for embarkation and everything will be allright. 🙏 Now it's time to think about the clothes I will be taking and which shoes and lots of other important stuff.
  6. I still have the keycard from last october Azamara cruise with the word “discoverer” printed on it. Hoe much proove do they need? now they told our TA the computer software couldn’t add the points. 54 years ago men walked in the mooi and we saw that live on television. And now adding a number is not possible?
  7. My TA called Azamara to ask about my lost points. (Elite on Celebrity, last year Discoverer on Azamara, this year zero points). We ended an Azamara Cruise in October 2022 (so before the deadline of February 1, 2023). We were under the impression we would keep the points (the concierge onboard assured us) but now they're gone. So my TA called (on advice of Host Jazzbeau) but Azamara told him WE had to merge our points before February 1 2023. (we booked a new cruise for October this year but we did that after Februari 1 2023 but as said we ended our Azamara cruise before that date). Because WE didn't merge the points, now it's not possible in this fantastic system to add up our points. Hmmmm....So even the points we have scored last October don't count. Hmmmmm.....NOT happy (it's a small thing I know but it's just so unfair).
  8. Thank you for this information. Sailing Onward in about 5 weeks now. I'm sure a lot of the crew members will still be onboard. We are Dutch, so is Iwan. We met him last year when he looked for us (and found us). We were the only Dutch guests that week, he loved to speak Dutch again. (we did too). It's good to read your cruise was fantastic. We hope for the same experience....
  9. Thank you, I will ask my TA ( who booked) to make it right
  10. We are Elite on Celebrity (Diamond on Royal). In October 2022 we took an Azamara Cruise and we got the " discoverer " status. Which was nice. Now there has been a split on Februari 1 2023. They told us we would keep our points and would stay Discoverer. Which was nice. But in our booking for October 2023 on Azamara we've got a new loyalty number and zero points. We guess it's all part of the new website. So...we will take the keycard of my husband, which he got on the last Azamara cruise with us (I threw mine away unluckily), as a kind of exhibit A with us during our next cruise. Hope that helps. On this card it says " discoverer". Maybe a tip for everyone else who has difficulties with the status?
  11. Hi, we sailed Royal Caribbean 7 times, Celebrity 7 times and HAL once. Last year we took our first Azamara Cruise. A different experience because of the small ship. Of course we were prepared and were positively surprised by the entertainment. Much more than we expected. We liked the food, especially at Windows, by far the best buffet restaurant on cruise ships (in our opinion). The terrace outside is fabulous. We liked the fact that everything is included. Being Elite on Celebrity and sleeping in a suite (the cheapest one) we've got free Wifi, free specialty dining, free drinks of course and free gratuities. Yes, adding these all to the costs of Celebrity and Royal, it's a lot of money. The White Night Party was fantastic, one of the best evenings we ever spend on a cruise ship. There were just a few children onboard but since we always cruise when it's school time, we never have seen many kids, not on Royal, Celebrity and HAL. We must say there were also some things about Azamara we didn't like or better: liked less. Since we didn't need a card to get drinks, the staff didn't know our names. We're used to for instance Royal where barkeepers know our names the second day we're onboard and know what we like to drink. Here on Azamara after a week they still didn't know our favorite drinks (every day the same, we're very dull people). We were surprised to be honest. We felt a bit anonymous. One morning we decided to order breakfast in the room. We filled out the special form, gave it to our butler and when he showed up nearly everything he brought us was not ordered by us. We called him because we were under the impression he mixed us up with another couple but that was not the case. We needed to go away real soon so we ate what he got us. Well, half of it. And the staff at Patio had no clue about serving guests. One of us ordered a starter and an entree and got both at the same time when the other one already finished the entree. And it was not what we ordered. And they couldn't find any Coke Zero onboard (which is not a very difficult drink, I think). So, for us no Patio. Still enough other restaurants where we can eat. We liked Azamara and booked a cruise on Onward in October this year. But we also booked a cruise on Oasis of the Seas next spring because we still love the large ships too. So, for us it was certainly a good move to try Azamara but I wouldn't say it's much much much better than Celebrity or Royal. It's different and you must take the cruise you prefer: a large or a small ship. I hope you understand what I'm writing because English is not a language I use much, except on cruise ships.
  12. Thank you very much. Last time on Onward Eric Du Grey was CD. Roy was assistent en very very nice. Hope he stays onboard. Well, I suppose everyone is good. I'm sure my cruise will be fantastic.
  13. Thank you Belfastman. I assume you're onboard now. Can you give us more names? I will be on Onward in 8 weeks (October 14) and I'm particularly interested in the Cruise Director and his/her assistent. Thank you.
  14. Thank you M109. Maybe I have to reconsider....A quiet day onboard, just relaxing sounds like a perfect end of the vacation to me 😎
  15. It's an evening ashore at the University. There's a lot of music and singing involved (I suppose classical) and it tells the story of Alexander the Great.
  16. Good to know! We've never been to nearly all the ports on this cruise, except for Istanbul and Mykonos. We've got 800 OBC and we don't spend anything while we're onboard so we thought: let's book shore excursions. We booked: Kavala Historic Xanthi & Nestos River Volos Mountain Villages of Portaria & Makrynitsa Mykonos Mykonos Sites & Flavors Patmos Patmos Scenic Drive. They're all short excursions so we can also spend some time near the port in the villages. We've been to Mykonos three or four times now and never took a tour, always strolled along the " city " but it's very very busy up there so we never got a chance to see the little shops of find a chair on a terrace. That's why we decided to take a tour to another village. Not that busy. In Istanbul we will only sleep a night before the cruise. We took some holidays over there, no need to stay longer this time, also because duty calls and we only have free days from October 13 to October 22. In Thessaloniki we booked the Azamazing Evening. There is a boulevard and a historic centre, we will do this On Our Own. In Kanakkale we haven't decided yet what to do. A whole day to war grounds? A whole day to a temple? All excursions take at least 8 hours. It's a bit too much. Maybe we will book a private tour. It's Turkey so when we get off the ship lots and lots of drivers will come to us to ask if we want to book a tour with them, it won't be difficult to find something there. Or maybe we just stay onboard to relax, as I said, we have to work again on Monday and we're not 18 anymore 👵
  17. Hi Bimmer09. This year, in October, we will be sailing with Azamara from Istanbul too. Our itinerary is Istanbul, at sea, Kavala, Thessaloniki, Volos, Mykonos, Patmos, Cannakkale, Istanbul. So the blue ports will be the same as the ones you will be visiting. Never been to these ports before. I hope I will remember to write more about these ports in November, when I'm back. We will make a shore excursion with Azamara in Kavala (Historic Xanthi & Nestos River) but not in Thessaloniki and Cannakkale. I (hope not forget to) let you know. Grtz, Jo

    New website.

Great suggestion. I will wait till I'm close to my sailing and call Frankfurt. Danke schön.

    New website.

Thank you Paul, I cancelled al my booked excursions and started again, but " your " sites/words never came up. I'm not worried, I'm sure it will be fine within 30 days of sailing, I now just keep it like it is.

    New website.

Thank you for your reply. I have some difficulties calling someone and have to speak in a different language (you might have noticed my English is not very brilliant). That's why I'm hesitating. But if I still can't make any bookings using my OBC within 30 days of sailing (today it's 104 days), then I will call them. But your response gives me a good feeling: it might help!!!!

    New website.

We have OBC but it is not showing in our account. Like everyone here. But we wanted to book excursions, using OBC so we asked Azamara how to do this. This is their reply: Using Onboard Credit to Book Shore Excursions To use your onboard credit (OBC) to book shore excursions, after logging into your account: Scroll down to Shore Excursions and select “Book” on the $0 Onboard Credit item to authorize use of your onboard credit Book your desired Shore Excursions Once your Shore Excursions are booked, navigate to the payment screen and click “Cancel" Your selected shore excursions are now booked, and onboard credit will be applied Well, that looks easy. So I tried. Step 1 ✅ Step 2 ✅ Step 3 ❓How to navigate to the payment screen? I tried a lot but nothing worked: no payment screen. Is there anyone who knows? Thank you so much, Jo
  22. One of the main reasons for me to cruise is to avoid dogs. I'm very afraid of any kind of dog and also I don't like their smell, their barking, sniffing, drooling and how they're wagging their tails. So...I cruise. It's really the only kind of vacation to take without being alert all day. If cruising will be changed into sailing with dogs, I would never cruise again. A pity, because there's not much left, because they really show up everywhere 😱 Well, accept for my home sweet home. 🏠

    Azamazing Evening

Hi, we booked the Onward Cruise of October 14, 2023. We will have an Azamazing Night in Thessaloniki called " Alexander the Great ". Does anyone has experienced this evening yet?
  24. Wow! Last week on Onward we did go to Corsica. 30 degrees and sunny. What a change.
  25. Hi, we were in a suite and we are Discoverer members (being Elite at Celebrity). For Discoverer members you get 50% off from a wifi package. For suite guests there is also a 50% discount for a wifi package. That makes 100% so wifi is free onboard for suite AND discoverer guests. No minute limits, free the whole cruise.
