  1. Can you purchase the VIP Sea Card on board? This card confuses me as I called customer support and they claim it isn't available nor does it show on their website for purchase. I'll be sailing Divina in February and hope to get this card.

  2. We will also be cruising during the super bowl. Looking for answers on this as well. Especially since it will be during sailaway.

  3. - Remove card from power slot when leaving the cabin, changes the colour of subtle lights outside door so Cabin Steward know cabin is empty so he/she can clean

Anything else I've missed? It's a 12 Day cruise if that matters and means there are more and/or different things I should know than if it was a 7 Day cruise. Thanks!! :D

We are also doing a 12 day on Divina in February so I'll be watching this closely. NCL does something similar to this, but one of the tips was to use any card with a magnetic strip. Turning the light switch in the room off changed the colors of the light outside the cabin as well. With NCL, the slot controlled ALL the power, not just the lights. Is this true with MSC? If so, any items you have charging in the room would stop. We also usually bring a travel alarm clock, and taking the card out would reset the time.

  4. You probably took her on one of the best kid friendly cruises barring Disney. Our Grand-daughters loved the kids' club on the Breakaway. I haven't had any kids with me on MSC but the kids I saw always looked like they were having fun.

She was too young for any of the kids clubs. They did have a room she could go play in and a couple of activities for babies with their parents. I believe this will still be the case with MSC which is fine. This is a family vacation for us and we'll do as much together as possible. With NCL we took turns seeing shows since she was too young to enjoy them. She may enjoy them now since she really likes music so we may attempt to take her to a show and see how she does.

  5. We are taking our 1.5yo daughter on MSC Divina in February. Looking forward to the responses on this. We took her to Bermuda on the Norwegian Breakaway in April in the Haven and she was a hit there. I'm hoping for the same on this cruise. It helps that she is a very happy well behaved little girl, but the crew loved her. We bring her own little pool since she can't go in the main pool so that shouldn't be an issue for us. Like the previous poster says, it is a kids sail free ship with many activities for children so if someone doesn't like kids on their vacation they should find another line or another type of vacation.

  6. I will freely admit that I haven't read all four pages of posts (a lot of them said much the same thing over again so..) but I have two questions for you lovely people.

1,do these upsell bidding emails get sent to European sailors? Or just to those who booked on the US site?

I think it is for US bookings only. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

2, I know if you go up to Haven you do not get the extra perks that were offered to those who booked Haven directly and that is fine. My question is do you get to use all the Haven facilities - lounge etc, and do you have use of the concierge??

Yes you get access to all the Haven facilities. Restaurant, bar, concierge, butler, pool, sundeck. And you'll love every second of it!

  7. We're back! We had an AMAZING trip on the Breakaway. Bring extra diapers. We brought +20, but didn't need them. They are very expensive on board.

Buy an umbrella stroller that reclines. We bought the Summer Infant 3Dlite.

Bring a baby carrier! They come in handy when there are stairs. We were in Bermuda and used it to do the Crystal Caves.

Bring an inflatable tub! There is a cheap duck one on amazon. Our girl loved it and so did the staff.

  8. We just returned from Bermuda on the Breakaway on Sunday. We had a fantastic time! We did utilize the Guppies room on Deck 16 a few times. We also did one of the Guppies sessions in Splash Academy once. A 1 year old may appreciate it more than a 9 month old. I think they had activities on sea days.

    In Bermuda itself:

    1) I highly recommend a umbrella stroller that can recline(this is useful on the ship as well). we bought the Summer Infant 3Dlite. Great stroller! You will have to fold it up on the buses, but not on the ferries.

    2) If you have a baby carrier, bring it. Fort Hamilton has a lot of stairs. If you do Crystal and/or Fantasy Caves, use it there too. We just left our stroller at the top of each cave and grabbed it when we were done.

    3) Bring a inflatable pool/tub. Our little girl loved her duck tub. She was a hit with the staff. We were in the Haven so it was a little more wide open, but I filled the tub in the shower and then carried it to where we could use it. When I was done I dumped it out in the shower.

  9. I bid $850/pp on a Breakaway courtyard balcony and we won. We still saved over $1200 of the full price. I was totally worth it. The staff is phenomenal and they clearly enjoyed having our little girl in the Haven. She was so spoiled even if she doesn't know it. The weather was not very good on any of our sea days so having a pool area with the roof closed worked out very well.

  10. We leave in 5 days with our 9 month old! We bought a decent umbrella stroller, a little rubber ducky blow up tub, and did as much research as possible so we don't forget/miss anything. Thankfully we don't have to fly so that is out of the equation. Driving to port is so much easier.

  11. Indeed! I also paid less for the upgrade ($870pp) than what I bid on the suite! I wasn't going to bid anything less than $900!

I wonder if I'll still be mailed the luggage tags, but assuming not, will print everything out. I'm also going to contact pre-concierge to get all of our requests squared away:)

How did you manage that? I saved over $1200 on the current price not counting the fact that I prepaid my tips at the lower rate.
