  1.

Glad you beat me to this great tip. This stuff really works and we have the travel size as well as a larger size for our bathrooms at home.

I do find it amusing that people find it necessary to bring water filled pillows as well as white noise machines and special towels and french presses and etc and etc. Tell me - who carries all of this luggage for you (up and down stairs and onto crowded busses)? And how much do you have to tip them through the airport and through the embark and disembark? I hate to let my possessions rule me. Much much easier to take the minimum and have some freedom and more space in the cabin - IMHO. But as they say - whatever floats your boat. :)

Well I for one can't sleep on just any pillow so I take mine with me but I agree some people seem to take a lot. But as you say what floats your boat. Just tip well.

  2. I bring our steward small gifts from our hometown, $5, $10, $20 all obtained from our local town bank. They really appreciate those.:D

But those small gifts although appreciated would be appreciated more if the 20.00 was wrapped around a thoughtful item that you put time and thought into. But of course you could take a 20.00 and wrap it around a 100.00

But then I am real sure the poster also gave cash not just a hometown gift.

  3. Why? They are paid to serve or help you choose wine, not to drink your wine. I would definitely not want either a server or a sommelier to plonk themselves on a seat next to us at the table and share our food or drink with us.

    DON

Well they are PAID to DRINK your wine. It just kind of fell out of practice.

Depends on several things but having a good sommelier set at my table discussing wines would be time and a glass of wine well spent.

  4. Sounds to me as if you work in the wrong area of business (or you work at Walmart) with that list of complaints. (yes I have done retail BTW)

Many a time I had over the amount and have been called to the 15 or under line because no one was there at my grocery store. I would be in a long regular line-so sometimes it goes the other way. I am just glad some clerks are nice enough to see it that way-that they would rather check someone out with a few items over the # than to stand there twiddling their thumbs. Of course my grocery store has self check out and so most with just a few items go there-the 15 or under line rarely has anyone.

Now Walmart seems to attract customers that act that way, which is why I try to stay out of there. If you are employed there I feel sorry for you and do emphasize.

Sounds to me you have not followed all the post as it was tongue in cheek not to be taken as real.

  5. And I might even go for the ultimate package for $10 more a day. I've passed up on fresh squeezed OJ at breakfast, and the specialty coffees at dinner because I didn't feel the cost was worth adding to my bill. But, with that package, I'd be doing 2 OJ's in the AM and specialty coffee every night, because I really like both.

Thought about it for DW as she likes OJ and coffee but.... she doesn't like pulp in her OJ and the regular coffee is fine.

Now is the speciality coffee covered Irish or Caribbean coffee well... that's a whole horse of a different color. :D:cool:

  6. Well getting the drink package so I have to remember my cruise somehow.:D no seriously it will be a great way to see if I get my monies worth from the package without keeping a written log. Plus I will be trying a lot of new ones and if there is one I really like and forget the name just show photo to barkeep.

Next month going to change it to Eat more SHRIMP. New New Year's resolution and all.

  7. This summer, in Dawson City (Yukon) I had a shot of whiskey with an entire toe in it. I have a nice certificate to show that I'm a member of the Sour Toe Cocktail Club I too am a member of the club. Lots of stories around how it all got started but the toe you and I had is not the original. Along the way one or more have actually been swallowed. Dawson was my favourite place in the Yukon. I lived in Whitehorse for three years

So we're these toe drinks on a cruise and what was the complaint. Or are we off topic just wondering if I am missing something.

  9. NO NO NO! This is the reason that bacon has gone up to $6.99/lb. :D Same thing with chicken wings-first they couldn't give them away and then they became the thing. Look at cupcakes at $3 and up per piece!

My new years resolution was to eat more bacon. I have had bacon every day this year. Next year I think I will change it to shrimp. I whole heartily agree about the chicken wings
