Nickie did join the Mariner in Miami - she got off the Explorer there when Franck arrived. She will be on the Navigator for the later part of the WC.

Jamie and Dana will be on the Navigator WC starting January 8, 2018 through the end of the trip in late May.
I also know John Barron was getting off the Explorer prior to Christmas '17 but don't know who was replacing him.
The Voyager and Mariner are a mystery to me . . .
Better something than nothing!

No forward open deck on the Explorer to go for sail-in/sail-out like on the older ships.

Bill,
Here's my review . . .
Explorer 739 F1 xrvlcruiser 17-Dec starboard Mid Suite: 332 ft2 (30.8 m2) Balcony: 132 - 115 ft2 (12.2 - 10.6 m2) 1 Both between 2 cabin decks. I heard no noise, had no vibrations. A great cabin yes between the 2 elevators/stairwells. Easy access to all decks

Bill,
Off subject but . . . .How do I comment about the Explorer cabin I was in for the TA crossing? It was fine - no noise but I wanted to say so since there were some others which were not the same. Do I email you (don't know the address) of what?
TIA . . .

I agree 100% with Jackie - the classes were fun, the recipes very good - I took several different ones on the recent TA crossing and will do it again when I sail on the Explorer again. Go for it.

I was mid-ship deck 8 and it as fine.

I also hope that the center aisle of the theater will be re-thought. A number of people fell on the early cruises and the situation has not been changed in the 18 months since then - no better lighting, change of carpet or anything else to make the steps more visible. The steps are still as hard to see now as they were then.

One thing which is different on all the Regent ships - as opposed to some other lines - is that the cabin types are mixed on most deck so telling someone your cabin number may not be telling them the type of cabin you're in - one of the things I like best about Regent.
Having said that, I just got off the Explorer and rode up in the elevator with someone who pushed the button for deck 14. I must say I was curious if that person was in the Regent suite!
Now back to the original subject of this thread.

I agree with Dolebludger - the Regent ships are small and it doesn't take all that much time to board.Very different than a ship with thousands of passengers.
Also, I agree with the comment that once a person leaves his/her cabin, we are all the same. The fact that many level of cabins are on most floors only increases that position.

It's been a wonderful cruise - and I've enjoyed the various postings. I'm glad to have met some of you and hope our paths cross again in the future.

I am in a Superior Suite on deck7, mid-ship. No creaking what so ever.

The M&M was very nice - well organized, the food looked good and as Sandy said, all the Senior Officers were there. Thank you CC and Regent Explorer!

Ron,
I'm glad to hear the improved report for the hotel although I'll only be there one night. I may see you in the cooking classes on board - they were fun when I did a couple summer of '16. I wonder who our "Chef" will be . . . time will tell!
See you soon.
Peggy
PS - and Sheila and Herb too,

I looked at the Regent web site and yes - Terry Breen is on board. Lucky Mariner people.
She's the best!

Jackie,
I have not been to a CC-planned M&M on Regent so can't compare it to the passenger-organized ones on Regent. I do agree though that the M&G are more personal. I'll be to my first M&M shortly - arranged via Daniela (F&B on the Explorer) - so will have a better idea.
I'm sure you know this but there was a posting on CC with lots of pictures of the updated Navigator.
Hope your "seasickness" is gone for good

Off subject:
1. The bathrooms on the Navigator were not changed in drydock last year.
2. I hope the minimum needed for a M&M will not go up from 12 for Regent - it is slightly less for another Luxury line and their ships have more passengers.

Hi Jackie, I've always used a TA well known by Regent. I normally pick a specific cabin so not being offered an upgrade/iupsell really is not an issue for me - I asked the question more out of curiosity than anything else. And thank you for your answer - it gave me all the specifics!
Looking forward to your postings . . . .
I leave for Lisbon and the Explorer shortly . . .
Enjoy the Amazon . . . .

When someone is offered an upgrade, is a specific cabin/suite mentioned? Or simply a category and no details?

Hi Jackie,
Looking forward to your postings - and anyone else who joins you!

Sheila,
Try Portugal . . . .

Thanks Crystal . . . .sounds like good choices for me in Pacific Rim too. Glad things are going well (mostly!)

You can book on line - for both you and your Husband - there are boxes to check for each of you - or call Regent and speak to an agent who will be glad to help you.
One advantage of calling and speaking to a person is that if a tour is full, you can ask what is open
