  1. Oh poor Susan. Hope she gets better fast. OK UPDATE from Columbia……They are pretty sure the pressure and heart rate problem are a part of transplant problems. A good percentage of them get this but usually much earlier after the transplant. Twenty years later is rare but Charlie never does anything normal😳. It has something to do with what gets done during the actual transplant operation. Things get snipped etc. they are hoping increasing meds will solve this🤞
  2. The heart biopsy is to check the pressures of your heart. They go through the neck and snip a piece of the heart and that gets biopsied. This also will tell if there is any rejection going on. Once again, thank you all🥰
  3. Echocardiogram and heart biopsy were excellent. Doctors were pleased with those results. Ekg still abnormal, pressure still high. He called and sounded better. OB, is it possible the radioactive injection from the pet scan can mess with pressure and stuff?
  4. @BonTexasNY How long have you been in Texas? My brother lives outside of Houston, Pearland, always enjoyed our visits. The humidity is a bit much though!!!
  5. We called Manhattan The City so non islanders made fun of that too. We were the forgotten Borough so never counted ourselves as part of The City. I didn’t think you would make fun of us😁
  6. That is where he got the heart transplant 20 years ago! A year after that, they found the tumor on the tail of the pancreas and took care of that. Nine years ago they found lesions on the liver metastasized from the pancreas but he is responding to treatment for that. The only problem is traveling to and from the Island. It takes forever sometimes.
  7. No news but they are taking a ton of blood. He is going for a test but he doesn’t know which one, just knows they haven’t fed him. Heart rate lowered but pressure still high.
  8. Unfortunately, we know the hospital area well. Valet parking is great but the trip from Staten Island is so long, traffic is horrendous. We rather he be there but I feel so far from him. He has been through so much the past twenty years. We are thankful for the extra time the new heart has given him but a rest would be nice.
  9. They are probably going to do a heart biopsy to check for rejection. I am going to bed now and hope the phone doesn’t ring during the night.
