Captjohn - We are also on the Oct 31 BCN-MIA on Explorer.  Flying out of PHX on BA in business class.  But instead of driving to PHX and spending the night, we are taking the short flight from TUS-PHX to connect with BA. Most likely we will be on the same plane (s) as you.

Cruz, you must live on the east side close to the airport. Our BA flights 288 and 476 in Bus.looks like we will get there at the same time😀 Are plan is to drive over have a little something to eat leave our car at the Hyatt and see you at the gate.

Where are you staying in BCN w/ Regent  or on your own ?

Captjohn, do they have a shuttle to the airport (I’m guessing they must).  Which cruise are you on?  We are on Splendor Athens to Miami next month.

Yes they do.Just ask for the Parking signup sheet. On the way back once you have your bags, call and they will pick you up, about 15 min.. Just a heads up, look out for " spring training" all the prices go up during that period.

We are on the Explorer Oct. 31 BCN- MIA

  3. We live near Tucson  ( OV ) also and fly out of PHX all the time. We have gone to DFW, JFK, SFO,SEA and more to Europe, and Asia, etc. all Bus or better. By the way when going out of PHX we go the day before and stay at the Hyatt Place /Tempe, they let us park free. We have been on 30 day trips with no charge. Oh if we can't stay on our way out of town we have stayed on our return. The room are basic but clean. Yes, we are on this cruise, just waiting for our Doc's.

I’’lol Post this question here rather than start a new thread as it is related to   Miami arrivals.

When Explorer docks on Nov 15 after the transatlantic cruise, should we expect there would be unusual delays for embarking guests due to additional health/CDC inspections? Nov 15 will be Explorers first post Covid cruise out of Miami, so I am just wondering whether to expect delays at embarkation.

    thanks

No- because the Explorer docks on Nov. 14. So the passengers. will be long gone when you arrive.

If I have this correct, Regent begins air booking 210 prior to the cruise. My TA always calls Regent at that time requesting non-stop only for the air.  There is a one time fee for the deviation and we always arrive a day or two earlier and maybe a day or two after.  We have never had a problem with the Regent air with our deviations. We have always had to wait for confirmation but Regent has always been good with these arrangements.  But this was before Covid.  The airlines alone have not resumed all flights schedules yet.

No I am using Regent Air.  Called Regent direct and being told the same " no availability"  The agent is sending an e-mail to get a further explanation for all the good that's going to do.  With the Regent Air we were denied the only non-stop from NYC to Nice.  They put us on a waitlist.  Not a good start to our first Regent Cruise.

Hi, we just booked Regent air to TLV from SFO ( United ) and were told we were on a wait list. We were told this is the airlines doing. Three days later we were confirmed.

In  light of these recent Court developments, reviewed my earlier Posts #34 and #42.  At this point, continue hoping Explorer will be at Barcelona on October 31st to begin that two week segment.  Where it winds up 15 days later (fill in the blank) remains uncertain.  [Plan B, or C?] That is why spouse and I have made Regent responsible for our return to Seattle.

    Still hopeful in Seattle--

    GOARMY!

Hi, GOARMY, we are on the crossing also and have been reading your comments. I think we would prefer Charleston, there is a direct flight to PHX at a good departure time should it come to that. I looked at flights to SEA and there are 3 direct flights ( AA ) but not the best times one at 4:45p. Lets just hope we go into MIA.

  8. As long as you guys are talking about equivalent suites we were booked in a Horizon suite on the Mariner, Wondering what they will move us to on the Explorer ? We were up graded with the 2 category  offer . OH yes we are also on the BCN to MIA cruise and are happy about the ship change.

  9. Found this on Cruse Mapper.

NCLH's entire fleet (all vessels of the brands NCL-Norwegian, Oceania and RSSC-Regent Seven Seas) is with an expanded cancellation policy. All bookings on pre-scheduled itineraries (departures March 14, 2020, through May 31, 2021) were given the option to cancel (up to 48 hours prior departure) without penalties.

Eventually, NCLH canceled all RSSC cruises leaving between March 14, 2020, and late-September 2021. Operations are currently planned to resume on September 11, 2021, with the ship Seven Seas Splendor (Around Britain cruise roundtrip from Southampton UK, follows Mediterranean and Transatlantic repositioning to the Caribbean). Seven Seas Explorer restarts on Nov 2 (Asia from Yokohama Japan). Seven Seas Navigator restarts on Nov 5 (South America from Miami). Seven Seas Mariner restarts on Nov 14 (Caribbean from Miami). Seven Seas Voyager restarts on Nov 21 (South Africa from Cape Town).

All affected bookings received a full refund (100%) in FCC (future cruise credit) transferred to a booking made within 1 year (any itinerary, fleetwide) from the canceled departure date. RSSC's Regent Reassurance policy was expanded to offer penalty-free cancellations (for any reason) up to 15 days prior departure with full refunds (100%) in FCC.

This is a great idea! I will explore this for us....

We will be part of a flotilla going to Princess Louisa Inlet, 11 days. Also going on an 14 day Desolation Sound cruise in Oct. that is if the Canada/US border opens.  Caution you need to be able to pilot your boat your self. That said with the flotilla you would have support from the lead boat. Link below.

I guess what bothers a lot of people is that they are just getting older and the time for them to travel is dwindling.  That time for them to travel is slowly going away.  So many people plan to travel when they retire, when they get older and most of Regent’s passengers fall into these categories.  Trips they had planned are going away and who knows when they will restart!!!??  I find myself in this category and somewhat frustrated.  I know this pandemic has to settle down and let science take its course.  But part of me just wants to see the world before we get too old to travel...

  12. Yes we booked but we will return from Fairbanks. This is a post tour for us and not trying to say anything here but with our Titanium level we get 25% off and will pay $ 1649.00 so this helps justify the price. One of our first cruises with Regent was also Alaska I think it was May from SF. Enjoy your cruise !

  13. Hope this will help those needing to renew Global Entry. I also hope the information will show properly.

    The Intel
Global Entry's Renewal Interview Process Can Now Be Done in Minutes
Speed through the interview on your way back from an international flight, or schedule a regular appointment if you aren't flying abroad anytime soon.
If your Global Entry is expiring soon and you haven't set up your renewal appointment yet, we've got two pieces of good news for you. The first is that Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) is so backlogged on processing renewals—some are taking a whopping three months to go through—that they've extended everyone's Global Entry for an extra year after expiration, as long as you start the renewal procedure before your expiration date. The second is that you can essentially skip that wait altogether on your next international vacation, thanks to a new system that allows you to take care of your short renewal interview at the border on your way back into the country, no appointment required.
My Global Entry, good for five years, was expiring in December so on my way back from a recent work trip to Namibia, I decided to go through this new, no-wait process. I logged into my Trusted Traveler account a few days before my trip to kickstart my renewal, filling out the usual paperwork (addresses I've lived in since my last renewal, countries I've visited, etc.) and paying the $100 fee (which has since been reimbursed by my Chase credit card). Then, it was time to wait for my conditional approval.
Not everyone has to go through another interview to get their membership for this immigration fast-pass renewed—so some of you may be able to skip this all entirely if you're approved immediately. You'll simply get your new card in the mail a few weeks after this first step. But I needed to see an agent IRL. Five days after I submitted my application I got an email from the CBP that my membership had been conditionally approved and that I needed to either set up an appointment or speak with an agent upon an international return.
I chose the latter, rather than wait weeks for a likely inconvenient appointment time. (Conditional approval is valid for a little more than a month, so don’t start the renewal process too far out from your next trip abroad.) When I landed from Namibia, I went through the usual steps at JFK, walking on the many moving sidewalks from the jet bridge to the immigration hall, zipping through the Global Entry kiosk questions, and printing out my arrival document.
Then, I followed a "Conditional Approval" sign into the room where flight crews are checked in. After a few taps to her keyboard, the CBP agent there verified my most recent address, made sure I had no other changes to my application, and snapped what will be a glorious post-16 hour flight headshot for my new Global Entry card. (Be sure to pack proof of residency if you're planning on going this renewal route—like a mortgage statement or electricity bill with your current address. I wasn't asked for mine but the CBP suggests bringing it along just in case.) She then stamped my arrival document, and I breezed past the winding immigration line, through baggage claim, and into my cab home. The whole renewal interview added about 10 minutes to my re-entry routine. My card will come in the mail in the next few weeks.
This service is now available at almost all international airports in the U.S. and a few airports abroad as well, like in Canada, Ireland, the Bahamas, and the UAE. (The CBP has a full list of the participating airports.) It can only be used on arrival from an international trip, before you clear the border—so be sure to look for the signs as you reach the Global Entry kiosks. All in all, it was the most painless renewal I've been through. Take notes, DMV.
