As many of us have experienced frustrations connecting with Princess customer service lately, I wanted to share a good news situation for once!
I had a question relating to existing OBC that my TA wasn't able to answer, so decided to give the Live Chat a chance. I had low expectations I'll be honest. To my surprise I was immediately acknowledged by Cyndy who was able to answer my question after a little back and forth. All accomplished very quickly.
I was then reviewing my airport transfer plans (I'm arriving in London a week before the cruise departs, but need to get back to Heathrow to connect with the transfer bus). I couldn't determine which terminal to head for...so another Live Chat ensued, this time with Miriam. She also was able to quickly get the information I needed.
Thank you Princess Live Chat!

You can specify air dry for the laundry. We have done this in the past and it may take an extra day for your laundry to be returned, but worth it.

Aha, now that is excellent news - thanks!

Thanks for all the info!
I normally cruise on Princess and always do my own laundry to avoid the (to me) excess dryer heat likely shrinking some clothes. I normally do 14 day+ cruises so will need laundry at some point. The cost is not an issue, just shrinkage concerns.
I'll have to give this some more thought...
Thanks again,
Becky

Thanks for all the feedback!
I don't have any quick dry type clothes, and the excess dryer heat is a concern for tops and undies. I don't mind sending the rest through the laundry though...
Will have to give this some thought.

Hello,
I'm a happy customer of another cruise line, but considering trying a Holland America cruise. I have a general question - do any of the Holland America ships have laundry facilities where you can do your own laundry?
Thanks!

Yes, on a full transit you stay on the ship, unless it is also doing a port call in Colon on the Atlantic side prior to the transit or Fuerte Amador on the Pacific side after the transit.
I'm re-reading this, checked our itinerary, and we will have a stop in Fuerte Amador after the transit. So does that mean we should have some type of excursion available after all?
I am very excited to be doing a full transit, but also trying to explore options!

Aaaaahhh, so the various threads about ferry/train excursions only apply if you are doing a partial transit?

I'll be on the Emerald Princess full transit departing Fort Lauderdale Feb 1/2023. This will be my first Panama Canal cruise.
Excursions are available for every (port) day of the cruise except the day of our full transit, is this normal?
Thanks!

I think I've found the answer - as suggested by Perky1 - there does appear to be a scheduled drydock from March 25-April 15/23. I saw this noted in the CruiseDeckPlans website.

Hello,
I'm booked on the March 9/23 16 day transatlantic ending in Barcelona on March 25. I'm toying with the idea of doing a B2B with the next cruise, but there doesn't seem to be a 'next' cruise. I can't seem to see anything for this ship until the April 15/23 departure from Barcelona.
Does anyone know what this ship will be doing for the missing 3 weeks?
thanks,
Becky

Not the answer I was hoping for, but good to know regardless!
Thanks

Hello,
Does anyone know if the Emerald Princess night table lamps have USB ports in the base?
thanks!

Travelling sisters - thanks for the info. I’ll discuss with my friend to see if we want to try this on our next (fingers crossed) cruise!

Does any one know if I can request just and evening housekeeping service? We usually get up in the morning and just go and in the evening we take out showers before dinner. I don't need the room steward to service my cabin in the morning and I know this is a busy time for them. Can I request that on the app or just tell him/her when I see them? I also miss the nightly chocolates☹️ My husband would eat them immediately but I would bring them home have 1 or 2 everyday and daydream about being back on the cruise. I hope at some point they bring them back.
I'm interested in this topic too - i.e whether the full housekeeping service can be in the evening instead of the morning. My travel partner and I have very different morning routines/schedules and I honestly don't know how the steward ever gets a chance to do our cabin in the morning! Doing it in the evening while we're at dinner would work much better for us.
Has anyone tried asking for this?
thanks,
Becky

I'm thinking you'll be on the Enchanted, arriving in Copenhagen on May 4th...
Regardless, I checked the International site of the Dutch train service and the journey time between Copenhagen and Amsterdam is very long (anywhere from 11 to 18 hours) and requires a minimum of 2 transfers. The fares are quite reasonable though.
If it was me, I'd fly!
Here's the Dutch train site if you want to poke around yourself:
Enjoy the planning!

Thanks again for everyone’s input - I’ve decided to remove all stress and have rebooked to the 5:20pm departure. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks for everyone's input. I moved my flight to 12:30 and will continue to monitor over the next couple of months. There is also a 5:30pm flight that day, so an additional option if needed.

Yes you do. But forget about Princess tfr... just grab one of the many cabs. Just get off early to get early test. Should be max 1 hr for result. If EZ-Air lets you book flight, it is legit and Princess will take care of you if the unexpected or unusual happens. The other thing is ... no gty... but PCR test may be gone before April if full vaxxed.
Thanks for the feedback. We often grab a cab there which is why I was initially comfortable booking the 11:20 flight. I've decided to switch to the next flight anyhow, a 12:20 departure. I'd love if the PCR requirement was gone by then! Some more finger crossing!

Ooops, somehow I double posted, sorry!

Hello,
I realize COVID requirements may change before April/22, however this is my situation. My flights are booked through EZ Air.
We'll dock in Fort Lauderdale at 7:00am and I have an 11:20 flight back to Canada. I'll need a negative COVID test in order to board the flight. Assuming nothing changes between now and April (!), do I have sufficient time to do the PCR test at the port when I disembark and make my flight?
thanks!

Returning to Heathrow to catch Princess Transfer
in British Isles/Western Europe
Posted
I'll be staying in London for a week prior to a November cruise, and will also be going back out to Heathrow to connect with the Princess transfer. I didn't know which terminal I should head for (Heathrow has 5 terminals), so asked Princess via their 'Chat' feature. This is what I was advised:
Based on this it would seem that you will need to get from the hotel to terminal 3. Perhaps contact the hotel ahead of time for suggestions as I'm sure they deal with this type of question frequently?
