  1. We’ve already booked the cruise under the Best Sale Ever promotion so will have unlimited WiFi included. I have a history of inadvertently blowing through my free minutes so for once won’t have to worry about that!. My travel buddy is elite and normally trades out the mini bar for coffee cards (which we won’t need this time) so I was wondering if it was possible to trade our free internet minutes for something. Based on the feedback in this thread it appears that’s not an option. I was only wondering!

  2. Thanks for the replies!

On a previous cruise I double checked I'd logged off correctly but still managed to lose all my minutes - this was on the first day of the cruise.  Went to the Internet cafe, had the minutes reinstated no problem.  Somehow managed to do the same thing 2 more times...now prefer to just pay for the unlimited package (or get it as part of a promotion) so no more worries!

Out of curiosity...where did you find this info? (I've learned lots over the years but still struggle with some topics...!)

    Thanks!

  4. Hello,

Does anyone know if the Mardi Gras will have self-service laundry machines like most other Carnival ships? (I've looked at the deck plans and don't see any)

I see a single cabin sized blank spot on deck 9, between cabin 9464 and cabin 9466 - any idea what that might be for?  It's the only blank spot on an exterior wall that I can see, and it seems unlikely to be a crew staircase as it would land in the middle of what appears to be kitchen space for Guy's Pig and Anchor.

    Any thoughts?!

    Thanks

  5. Hello,

I used to use Renmar's link (I think that was his/her name) containing visuals of the actual obstructions on Princess cabins, however when I tried yesterday it seems the link no longer exists.  Does anyone know if there is a new link?

    Thanks in advance,

    Becky

  6. I was looking at these cabins for an Enchanted cruise, which appears to be a similar layout, and saw the following when looking at deck plans:

    image.png.fa73d7cd8c4de4cc3cc0189de615c037.png

I think this means that the balconies are closed off except when in port.  I seem to recall seeing some posts about this previously but could be mistaken.  Maybe someone out there knows for sure?

  7. Hello - I've posted this question in the Europe ports of call section, but am also posting here as my question is 'Princess' specific!

We'll be in Helsinki for one day in June, taking a 'Helsinki Highlights' Princess excursion in the morning - which provides the option to stay in the city at the end of the tour if you don't want to go straight back to the ship.  I was in Helsinki (also with Princess) as a one day cruise stop 6 years ago, and that time we took the ship shuttle to the centre of town and did our own thing, then took the shuttle back.

My question, for anyone that has utilised the 'stay in the city at the end of the tour' option with Princess...do they drop you at the shuttle location, or at least point it out?  If not, is the location within walking distance of the open air market by the water and the Uspenski cathedral?  (the walk from the shuttle location to this market was about 10 minutes 6 years ago)

    Thanks!

    Becky

  9. I did this tour almost 5 years ago on the Royal and absolutely loved it.  The one thing that I still smile about when I think about it occurred in the laundry area.  There was this machine that dried, ironed, folded and then stacked bedsheets in about 5 seconds flat.  One after the other after the other. I was fascinated watching it and could have stood there for ages!  This isn't to minimize all the other really interesting stuff we saw (I don't think it was mentioned above but our tour started in the big theatre where we went up on stage and then backstage to see the performers area - their moving costume rack was pretty neat!) but I was mesmerized by the laundry machine!  As they say, different strokes for different folks!

    yes there is a shuttle

alamo/enterprise/national share an office on the port property but as I mentioned due to a 'not foot friendly' draw bridge 'tween the Carn' terminals and the rental location you must take the shuttle (or taxi or uber)

    Thanks for the quick reply!

Ok. Let's try this. Log into your Carnival account; find your cruise; click on "excursions". Check on the box for the last day of the cruise. There should be a list of excursion that you can do with Carnival in Orlando. Good luck!

Unfortunately that's where I started looking and the only option is the shuttle to Orlando airport...so far...I'm hoping that someone recently or currently on a cruise out of Port Canaveral can advise what's available on board.

I could end up taking a shuttle to the airport then a cab (likely expensive?!) to Disney Springs for a few hours, however I don't know if Disney Springs has somewhere I could leave my luggage.  I will be exploring that possibility too but was hoping for another option!

  12. I haven't looked at the port of departure board as I want to know what Carnival does/may offer.  A friend has travelled on RC and recalls tours available of the space centre - I'm hoping for something maybe like that to kill a few hours. I'll be on my own and am not interested in renting a car to do my own sightseeing/shopping, I'm just hoping for something interesting to avoid hanging out at the airport for over 10 hours. In other ports I've done tours that get you to the airport by about 2:00, which is better than getting there at 10:00!

  13. Hello,

I have a late flight from Orlando and was wondering if Carnival normally offers any excursions for the day you get off the ship?  The only excursion option at the moment is the shuttle to the airport but I was hoping that something else would be added - though maybe not until we are on board?

I'm travelling at the end of this month if that makes a difference...!

    Thanks in advance.

  14. I've been in a cabin across from the laundry room twice.  Never heard any noise from the machines however did hear plenty of chatter on occasion from the people using the machines.  Some seem to stand in the hall talking to their partner/friend while waiting for their load to finish or somehow hold the doors open while entering/exiting so then the noise would 'escape'.  Didn't bother me as I was usually getting changed and leaving the room again or just using my room facilities. I'd book that location again for the convenience when doing my own laundry!

  15. I haven't been on either of those ships yet, but can offer a suggestion that we've done successfully on most other Princess ships.  You can easily pull the twin beds out from the (headboard) wall, move both night tables together so they are between the two beds, then push the beds back against the wall.  This gives you more space between the two beds.  One caveat - we were recently on the Golden Princess and could not do this as the one night table was somehow attached to the end of the desk.

    Good luck!
