Notify Casino Host Prior To Cruise?

We will be on Anthem of The Seas, October 1/16, sailing to Bermuda. We are wondering if we should notify the Casino Host that we will be on board before the sailing, and if so, who do I email? Is there any benefit to early notification? We are Casino VIP. Thanks for any help that is offered.

Rhonda :)

If you are a member of Club Royale, you should ensure that Club Royale knows that you'll be on that sailing. They'll send a list of all sailing Club Royale members to the casino host and casino manager. You should then get a welcome letter in your cabin.

Thank you, I am a member, do you have an address for the host?

No, I'm sorry, but I don't have the email address for the Casino Host. I think it was something like <shipcode>_CasinoHost@rccl.com, but that's a faded memory at this point.

(<shipcode> for Anthem would be AN.)

I'm not a Casino Royale member (that I know of) but I did contact the Casino Call Center to let them know I was an M-Life member.

When we boarded Serenade there was a letter in our stateroom from the Casino Host welcoming us aboard and telling us to stop by the casino to meet him. We did just that, and discovered he was carrying a clipboard with a sheet of paper that had all the names AND pictures of people who were Casino Royale or M-Life members that had contacted ahead of time. I'm sure the pictures were helpful for him to recognize us and learn our names...which he did and remembered throughout the 10 days we were on board.

Send an email to "Ocean Players club.com" (include your booking #)

I have sent them email's prior to my cruises and each time I received an email back with the amount of money that they would put on my account. When I get to the casino the Casino Host greats me and I never have to pay for anything while i am playing. All I had to do was go the Casino Cage and get the money. Cash in hand.

I hope this works for you, it has worked for me.

I'm also on the 10/1 Anthem sailing, but I am NOT a Club Royale member. I am a Celebrity Blue Chip member and I did book through Club Royale because I used my Celebrity rebate towards my cruise fare.

Will the casino host know I am there? Are there any perks for booking via Club Royale (casino drinks, reduced cash withdrawal fees, etc.?)

I am VIP with NCL's Casinos At Sea - and as I mentioned, a Celebrity Blue Chip member, but this is my first cruise with Club Royale.

Thanks in advance for any info! :)

If you booked through Club Royale, then you should be on the list that's given to the Casino Host. As to what your status would be with Club Royale, though, I don't have any experience in that area to comment.

Historically, Club Royale members would get free drinks while playing in the casino, no fee (normally 5%) to get money from the SeaPass account, and other comps onboard at the discretion of the host.

Since March, however, they will let anyone be a member of Club Royale, and it seems that those of us who were previously invited to be members are considered "VIP" and get the aforementioned perks. Since you've got status with a sister cruise line, perhaps it transfers over to Club Royale... I just don't know.

I'd suggest that you contact Club Royale and ask them specifically what to expect onboard. I think it's a very fair question, and I'd be very curious to learn what the answer is.

Thanks, Daghis - I did just call Club Royale (is it Club Royale or Casino Royale? lol)

The rep looked up my reservation and said that my booking reflects I am a guest of the casino, and based on my Celebrity Blue Chip status I can expect:

  • that the casino host(ess) will be aware I am coming;
  • to be treated like a "VIP" (his words);
  • waiver of 5% cash advance fee;
  • free drinks in the casino.

He also told me that my play would be rated for points & eligibility for certificates for discounts/free cruises, blah, blah, etc.

He also went on a little sales pitch about the casino - how many sq. ft, how many slots & tables, etc. :) Unfortunately, no sales pitch needed for me! ;)

Good question. It's easy to get confused due to the naming.

Casino Royale is the name of the casino onboard Royal Caribbean ships. Club Royale is the name of the casino player's club.

Terrific! So you're getting reciprocal recognition as a Club Royale member. I'm sure they'll treat you well onboard.

I hope you have a great cruise!

Rhonda, did you book through Casino Royale? If so they should have your name on the list and when you first go to the casino and meet the host, he or she will put stickers on your card and maybe give you some drink vouchers or put a sticker on your card for free drinks while playing in the casino. (This is based on your past playing).

If you didn't book through the casino you should have and you should still call them to check your rates and perhaps you could receive further discount.

Have fun and good luck!

I'll be on the same cruise with you. If there's not a welcome letter waiting in the stateroom, I'll track down the casino host when they open. Basically I just want my free drinks and sticker so I wont pay the 5% getting chips at the poker table.
