It was indeed an adventure!

 

I went across the street to The White Star Tavern and got an Old London ale and the ubiquitous fish and chips. It was deliciously filling.

 

 

Then I went back across the streets to The Grapes for an Elderflower G&T since I'm staying there and they have WiFi.

 

 

Here's my single room which I will be sleeping in soon because I am tired.

Following! I won't be on the Bliss anytime soon but have kept an eye on its progress as it was built so I feel somehwat invested. :p

Woke up at 2am here and tried to sleep more but wasn't happening. I finally went out at 5am for a walk around and to see if I could find some coffee. I found a convenience store that opened at 6 so I puttered around for a bit taking some pictures.

A medieval merchant's house which sadly isn't open today. You can see The Duke of Wellington to the right where we'll be having our pre-cruise dinner tonight.

I did get my coffee, it was a flat white from a machine at the store but it was better than the instant in my room.

Yes, The Grapes has a hotel above its pub, there are couple of other places like that here on Oxford Street. Sadly the bed is very soft which is leaving my back sore.

Finally some good coffee and a delicious breakfast of avacado eggs Benedict at The White Star Tavern. They started breakfast at 7am, one hour earlier than the coffee house next door.

When you get on the ship can you post if we are able to use our "Starbucks" coffee cards on board.

We will be on the "Panama Canal" cruise in 2 1/2 weeks out of Miami and are trying to tie up several loose ends.

I so wish I was with you all on this sailing! I still have fond memories of the Escape Maiden voyage from Hamburg! That pre cruise dinner was a scream and I was so hungover the next day!!!!
