HAL website itinerary not showing tender ports....??

I have been looking at possible cruise itineraries....and the new HAL website isn't showing which ports are tender ports........??

 

I know some of the ports are tender only....ie: Lahaina.......

 

Clicking on "Learn More" brings up a screen on excursions....

 

Am I missing something....???

Don't you know - the less information they provide, the better the benefit to you as a consumer...... :o

 

This seems a common trend in cruise website design - less information and more glossy pictures (HAL, Celebrity, RCCL, Carnival, etc) Personally I am not a fan

I had no problem seeing tender ports while researching cruises...including just now...they are marked as "TR" next to the port name. Were you looking at an itinerary that doesn't have any tender ports?

Unfortunately you are hitting HAL website at a very bad time - they recently transitioned to a new website format and it is driving even long time loyal HAL cruisers crazy. Hang in here and hopefully you will find answers and HAL will hopefully finally clean up this mess of a new website.

 

Though one assumes they are losing new customers right and left after having inflicted this website debacle on the cruise world. People are finding they cannot even print out their cruise documents that they have already paid for. Discouraging first experience, right?

 

The ships and itineraries can be wonderful, but Seattle management seems to want to destroy all the good will in a few weeks that their own staff and crew have built up over the past decades.

I am looking at the 51 day Tales of the South Pacific....and I know there are tenders going to Lahaina and Rarotonga plus several more.....and there are no "TR" listed anywhere.....as you can see on this link....

On the cruise link I listed, Cienfuegos Cuba is not shown as TR, but is on the list that you found.

I noticed that Sitka and Icy Strait Point are both listed as tender ports.....but they actually both have nice piers and can dock.....they would only be a possible tender if more than one ship was in port.....

Both of those links briefly flashed the old website, then said site not available.

If you got the site map, you were in the old website, which still shows those details. It seems that lots of old links default to the site map of the old website and then you can find your way around from there.

But I took the site map link the that OP provided so why can't they get it too? Like I said, computers are strange.

Should be 26 days at sea, from what I recall when I looked at that trip there are 25 stops, not including the scenic cruise day.

 

Also keep in mind a number of the stops are rather rustic. One Fiji stop is to an island that only has 200 inhabitants (even the tender pier is a temporary floating pier that gets set up when a cruise ship is scheduled) Great stops for beach time, snorkeling, etc. Not much else.

You are probably still on the old site. If the header is blue-on-white and says PLAN A CRUISE like this

you are on the old site.

All computers are not weird. The new HAL website is just not ready for use. I encountered the same issues as you as well as other info. such as whether a VISA or vaccination is required, small things to some but useful info. when planning a journey. When you are on either website, there is a small Feedback tab, click it and you get the op. to submit the issues you encounter.

In 2016 there were 13 tender ports for the Tales of the South Pacific. In 30 cruises this one was our favorite by far. We were a bit concerned because DH had a recent hip replacement. We were blessed with mostly calm seas and easy tender entries and exits. We are booked again for 2019.
