flynnsport Posted September 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2009 Any opinions about how big a difference there is between a suite and a balcony room for two people...trying to figure out if it's worth the cost difference on the Conquest. diathoney Posted September 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2009 The Carnival website can give you sq footage difference. There is more storage, walk-in closet, larger bathroom, with a separate vanity area, larger balcony. More room to walk around in the room so you're not always stepping on one another. We book a suite if there is a quad available and it doesn't cost more than a few hundred.
ronkay Posted September 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2009 we have been in both and while the suite is nice and definitely more room to sit and relax it is not really necessary if only two of you are going, we get the suite when we have a few couples or family members cruising with us, so we have room for everyone to get together but when just the two of us the regular balcony is fine. Is guess what I am saying to us the extra $$ for the suite is not worth it when just the two of us.

How do you define difference? Do you mean a cat 11 or 12? Size wise is substantial from a balcony to a cat 12 suite. There are other perks such as VIP embarkation for a suite as well. We love being in a suite but the cost does not always make sense. People sometimes have the same feeling regarding a balcony compared to inside or ocean view. How do you define it? Rare jimbo5544 Posted September 1, 2009 #8 Share Posted September 1, 2009 It varies as to what a cat 11 is by ship, are you talking about the conquest?

Rare jimbo5544 Posted September 1, 2009 #11 Share Posted September 1, 2009 The reason for asking is....balcony size differs in class as well as bathroom's. Conquest class baths have a jacuzzi tub, whereas Fantasy class (and others) have a shower. I would go for the cat

flynnsport Posted September 1, 2009 Author #14 Share Posted September 1, 2009 I appreciate the input...just curious if it would be wasted space and $$$ for two people, or if spending the money elsewhere on the trip would be more wise...really only considering it cause it's honeymoon. Rockportgirl Posted September 1, 2009 #15 Share Posted September 1, 2009 I've never had a suite, but my thinking is spend the money elsewhere, unless you plan on spending a LOT of time in your cabin. (which you may, seeing as how it's a honeymoon cruise :))

Last 2 cents worth from my point of view. If you were going on a honeymoon and staying in a hotel, might you opt for a better room (maybe a suite)...if the answer is yes and you can and want to swing the extra moola then do it and really enjoy the suite.
