We are sailing on Carnival Dream (1st time on Carnival), our past cruises have been without our grandkids. This particular cruise we will be with DD & SIL plus the three grandkids. My question is how do you keep track of your kids when on board such a large ship. Do you set up times to meet or what else do you do. Please send all suggestions they will all be appreciated.

Set up meeting times and use sticky notes. Before separating we would tell the kids where we would be and they would tell us where they were going and we set a time and place to meet up. If anything changed we either went to where the other was to let them know or left a sticky note in the room.

Even tho the ship LOOKS big, there are only so many "public" areas where you will be spending your time....just set up your "schedule", tell everyone where you'll most likely be (the pool, casino, etc...) and until what time, and you'll find everyone else just fine!

We have four teens (ages 13, 14, 15, 17). Before we even leave for the airport, we go over rules and expectations. Everyone gets a watch--the cheap ones from Wal-Mart. We generally use the stateroom as a meeting area although we've agreed to meet in an area like the pool or the buffet area. At breakfast we discuss our itineraries for the day. Sticky notes are a great idea.

So what happens when they don't follow the rules? They get to spend part of an eventless, and likely boring, day with mom and dad in a deck chair (make sure they take along a good book or they will be spending the time looking at the water). Not a truly bad punishment but we haven't seen a mistake more than once.
