Back-to Back; Diamond to Diamond Plus?

Recommended Posts

We will be qualified for Diamond Plus after we complete the first leg of our Monarch back-to-back in November. How can we ensure that we are upgraded to Diamond Plus for the second segment? Also, can someone walk me through the process we will follow at Port Canaveral when we will be between cruises? We are really looking forward to our first cruise on the Jewel in January where we will be able to use the CL. Thanks for any info!

During your first cruise, go and see the Loyalty Ambassador at one of their scheduled times. The ships 'computer' will not know that you are going to become D+, so it has to be done 'manually'. Explain the situation to the LA and they should tell you to come back on the first day of your 2nd cruise when they will put a D+ sticker on your new (for the 2nd cruise) Seapass card and give you a D+ voucher book and upgrade you to D+ perks.

The Monarch B2B process has been simplified. You meet at Guest Relations about 9:30am. You are escorted off the ship and through customs. Once through customs you are given your new Seapass cards (no standing in line at check-in counter) and you walk back on the ship. You are off the ship no more than 10 minutes. The 9:30am time may vary slightly based on the progress of disembarkation.

We got our 23rd & 24th credit on the first leg of a Navigator B2B last year and talked to C&A before the cruise to make sure our credits were up-to-date in the system. Then met with the LA on-board (as suggested by Simon) during the first leg. She looked up our records and then set every up for the second leg as D+ers. No hipcups whatsoever. We wanted our first seapass card as D+ers to be printed as such for souvenir purposes but were told by C&A before the cruise that that was not possible. So a sticker was placed on the second leg card.

We did not have to get off the ship. They had a special reception in one of the lounges the day before to pick up the new seapasses. Lots of B2Bers on that particular cruise.

Just off a B2B from Port Canaveral.

A meeting was held on the second last night of the first cruise where we were issued with our new sea passes. Told we would be escorted on and off the ship and this would take no more than 30 minutes.

We had to meet the next morning at a designated area with both our old and new sea passes.

Escorted off the ship where we had to "ping" our old sea passes and go through customs. This took no time at all.

We were then led to a holding area and made to stand there for almost one and a half hours while Port Authorities and Royal Caribbean argued over numbers.

Seemingly there was a discrepancy about one passenger and the numbers of back to backers did not tally.

They eventually let us back on the ship where we "pinged" our new sea passes.

Hopefully it will go much smoother for you and there are no "mix-ups".

I called Crown and Anchor before our cruises when we went from Platinum to Diamond. I was first told that nothing could be done until we returned. I called back and finally was told that I should go to the Loyalty Ambassador when we boarded the Brilliance, second cruise, and they would give us a sticker. It had to be after the first cruise and info was entered into the computer.

I did get the balcony discount difference from Platinum to Diamond after final payment was due on both cruises. All of our discounts were upgraded on the second cruise, had all the perks of Diamond. Actually got a Platinum coupon book and then the cabin steward brought the Diamond one.
