gargoyle999 Posted October 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2009 When Carnival changes up the itinerary on you after booking and the taxes increase does Carnival make you pay that difference?
salty dingo Posted October 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2009 I don't think so. Even if that were the case, the amount has to be extremely small. I'd be surprised if taxes varied by $5 a person in that case.
yogimax Posted October 15, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2009 After you book, your price is locked in as far as increases, with the exception of the fuel surcharge.
firefly333 Posted October 15, 2009 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2009 They made me pay. I had a increase on Ecstasy I think it was, back last January, had booked well in advance. Prices dropped. I had to pay the difference, my TA advised me if I didnt, that Carnival was within their rights to charge it to my S&S card if I failed to pay them beforehand. (I was saying I didnt think I should have to pay the extra, but then prices dropped so it became a moot point, I couldnt get the whole price drop). S.S.Oceanlover Posted October 15, 2009 #6 Share Posted October 15, 2009 I have had taxes go up after booking and once had a credit for the taxes being lowered so I think up until sailing you would be charged. Both times it was maybe about $10. Bill

G'ma Posted October 15, 2009 #8 Share Posted October 15, 2009 After you book, your price is locked in as far as increases, with the exception of the fuel surcharge. The cruise price is locked in.....but not taxes, fees and fuel surcharges. Here, from the passenger ticket contract: 7. CARNIVAL’S RIGHT TO INCREASE FARES, CANCEL OR CHANGE VOYAGE, CHANGE STATEROOM ASSIGNMENTS (a) Carnival reserves the right to increase published fares and air fare supplements without prior notice. However, fully paid or deposited guests will be protected, except for fuel supplements, government taxes, other surcharges and changes to deposit, payment and cancellation terms/conditions which are subject to change without notice.
