Do we have time to get to our cruise ship???

Princess have arranged flights from the UK to Montego Bay. We arrive at 3.20 pm. Does this give us sufficient time to get to the ship?

Having read some of the postings, I am concerned because they are saying they have no control over the flights, although I believe they have chartered a Thomson Airbus.

We thought we would be safer using Princess flights, but having read some of the threads it sounds as if it is the last thing we should have done:rolleyes:

We don't go until March so have time to make changes - I think!!

Does anyone know how long it takes to clear customs and get to the ship?

Hi There,

I guess you are joining the Sea Princess,

if it is a standard charter does not matter how late your flight

they will wait

have been hours late in waiting for a flight.

so do not worry if your flight lands only

an hour before ship sails.

This is one reason why I didn't book a cruise with flights arranged by Princess. I asked if I could arrange my own and they said certainly I could but I would still pay for their flight!

Questions I asked were:

Where does the flight depart from?

(A) Dunno - we'll tell you nearer the time.

What time doe the flight depart then?

(A) Dunno - we'll tell you nearer the time.

Can I book Premuim Economy on the aircraft?

(A) Dunno - we'll tell you nearer the time.

I therefore decided against the Sea Princess (shame really 'cos the itinerary was pdg) and booked on the Caribbean Princess - arranging (via a TA) my own flights.

Hi MBP&O2/O

Almost all fights to the Sea Princess are charters yet to find that is not,

nice Virgin flight to Barbados, no customs waiting about for luggage,

bus on run way straight to ship .

Excellant service, even if a Thomas cook or a First Choice seats for up grades for sale.

Yup ... I booked with Virgin to Miami (overnight) and thence to San Juan with American. The only fly in the ointment is that I have permium economy seating on the transatlantic leg and thus an increased baggage allowance - which I cannot transfer onto the American flights  as they are not codeshare. It nearly went FUBAR when my TA tried to book me seats from Miami to San Juan ..... via Philadelphia !!! They told me quite categorically that there were no direct flights - but thereagin they also told me that the 'airport' hotel they had booked me had a shuttle bus service when it was on Miami beach? When I asked why it was there I was told 'Well it is handy to join the ship in the morning'

You just can't get the staff nowadays:D

I should change my name to Grumpy Od Git or Victor Meldrew!!

It does not matter in this case as it is a charter and everyone on the flight goes to the ship.

It mattered to me ... where was the flight from? What time? etc etc.

Nothing like a bit of pre planning to avoid last minute snatl ups!

The key for the OP is the ship will wait.

Hi there,

Twice now after booking Princess has moved flight times to very early in the mornings,

no problem as my fare imcludes flight from Scotland to England,

Princess re booked flight down, paid for nice hotel the Softel, other was a short distance away so laid on a full size coach for just a few of us all at there cost.

Once on way back bad weather in Barbados ment we were late taking off,

as such we could not make connections home half way home captain said

Princess has re booked everyone with on ward flights, when we landed loads of reps to guide us to ticket desks to get new tickets, a bus to get us from terminal to terminal all in all first class service,

on another charter Princess used a qantus jumbo captain had to say sorry moive was longer than the flight,

another was Titan great old style silver service real cups etc 6 star
