Jonbongal Posted October 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2009 Hi everyone, My family and I are booking a cruise for next year on the Carnival Pride out of Baltimore (10/31/10). We have NEVER cruised before and are quite excited. That being said - one of my biggest concerns is the cabin location. There are 4 of us (me, hubby, 13 & 9 yr old girls) and I want a cabin that is located in a "quiet" area (is that possible on a ship ). I definately don't want to be near, above or below a nightclub, kitchen, etc. or anything that would have noise/music going on all night. We are definately going to book a balcony cabin. Can anyone offer some advice or recommend a cabin location? Thanks in advance for your help!! Shell
cb at sea Posted October 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2009 Your best bet is to have the deck plans in front of you, so you can see what you're buying. Carnival will send you a cruise brochure with the deck plans, if you ask, or you can get them online. Most folks like to be "sandwiched" between 2 passenger decks, so you don't risk clubs or kitchens above or below you. Midships is the most stable area for those concerned with motion. Being near an elevator or stairs is NOT a bad thing....very convenient! Frankly, cabins are generally quiet....
serene56 Posted October 28, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 28, 2009 I agree that being close to an elevator is VERY convenient. You would like a cabin between cabin space-- away from public areas-- and close to the aft elevator-- puts you super close to the food and pools. (considering you will be going for food at least twice a day EVERY day.
NJcruiser123 Posted October 29, 2009 #4 Share Posted October 29, 2009 We are sailing the Pride on the 29th on November, 2 adults and 2 kids (1 & 3) and are boked on the main deck 4. I would prefer to be 1 or 2 floors up but for the price could not beat this cabin. All the shops and stuff are on 3 so it is quick down to them which is great but a little way up to the pools and buffet which are on 9. i have been 2 rooms away from the elevator and heard nothing so don't worry so much about that as being above/below the show lounge. WhansaMi Posted October 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2009 I'd recommend an aft wrap. It would give you more room, the balcony is wonderful.... like having 120 extra sq feet of living space. We were in 5295 over the summer, and loved it.

NCTribeFan Posted November 2, 2009 #7 Share Posted November 2, 2009 We'd all love to have aft wraps, but they are very expensive (and Carnival has just recategorized their cabins, making these even more expensive than when they were "just" Cat 11). Deck 4 is a great location on a Spirit-class ship (I'll have a 'regular' aft in December). I was in 7192 on Miracle and really liked that location. If I were to get a side balcony again, I think I'd pick something on Deck 6 (cat 8J). It's between cabin decks, so you wouldn't need to worry too much about noise. Not too far from the pool/buffet deck or from the dining room/loungers/casino/shops. You didn't say whether you were going for an inside or balcony. With 4 people, an extended balcony has a little more room, but not enough for 4 people (and they only provide 2 chairs, anyway).
