Well I love these boards and all the people on them - and over the years have become 'familiar' with some of the personalities so to speak, so I offer up for your reading enjoying and participation - the 1st annual cruise critic board awards.

 

Feel free to add your own 'nominees' and categories!

 

Friendliest and Most Knowledgeable Host: 1st place - Host Mach

 

Best Cabin Advice: 1st place - Firefly333

Runner up - Serene56

 

Cruiser most upset by smoking onboard: (okay I can't remember his name but I'm sure someone else will?)

 

Most unusual thread topics: 1st place - picklebongo

 

Best 'advice for parents' poster - 1st place - LHP

 

Most offended by Elegant Night cruisewear - 1st place - steveaaaa

 

Best photo reviews (hard to decide this one) - I nominate Paulmedik - but there are lots of excellent reviewers here!) Also nominate Wennfred

 

Frequent Cruiser Award: I nominate G'ma

 

Best 'says it like it is' poster - dan40

 

Best Cigar Smoking poster - Cigar Dude

 

Cutest cruise board name - 1st place - Nunu

 

Best Food Picture Taker - 1st place - Jordanaire

 

Outstanding Photography - 1st place tie between aplmac and zydecocruiser/nola

 

 

Well I could go on and on (but I won't) - but it's past my bedtime (even with that extra hour)

Okay on our roll card board I just said this week that I nominate Jetskier aka Dave as best cruise critic member of the week.

 

He's leaving for the Holiday's last cruise today and on the way he's stopping at motel to pick up a couple and take them to the ship so they can park free and save taxi fare

 

THEN

 

he's picking up the comedian for the ship and taking him to the port too!

 

So you started this thread just in time Dave not only contributes a lot to these boards--he gives of himself and his time to CC members in real life too.

 

Jetskier aka Dave--most helpful Cruise Critic member!!!

 

P.S.--he's done a lot for our roll call on the Fantasy next week, I'm really looking forward to meeting him face to face.

A CC member (Aquahound), who I met on a previous cruise roll-call, picked me up in his car and gave my family a personal tour of Key West. He took us to a locals joint for lunch that was a few islands up and was an absolute paradise. He even treated us to frozen key lime pie on a stick dipped in chocolate. To top the day off, he even got us a tour on a Coast Guard ship!

 

However, he does not post here because I believe he has never been on a Carnival cruise. i just wanted to give him Honorable Mention.

Being you mention HE, it must be because he's had so many names. MMCS Cruiser, Shipyard Cruiser, AKA Pete and Teresa, Chula Vista Bart.

Froufie! I'm so hurt that you didn't name ME for any category! :(

 

I think I could easily have won the "Most Apt to Tell an OP That It Is None of Their Business How Much I Won in the Casino or How Much I Paid for My Cruise and That It Is Astoundingly Rude to Ask and Why Do You Care?" category.

 

Or the "You Could Find an Answer to this Question by doing a Quick, Easy, Advanced Search Faster Than You Could Start a New Thread and Wait for a Dozen Different Useless Responses" category.

"Should I Pay to Upgrade My Mom?" Sorry, we all are stuck with the Mom we were born to!

 

"Weather for Valor" I'm sure the Valor is a nice ship, but it doesn't rate it's own weather!

 

"3 Fantasy Questions" :eek:This is a family board!

 

"The Hardest Ship to Navigate (in your opinion)" Thankfully, Carnival pays people to do this for you!

Wow - you guys are good! Love all the comments and 'additional' categories and 'honorable mentions'.

 

Joan - How about the "Cruiser made to suffer the most with obnoxious dinner companion award" (and then telling her off!) - 1st place to NCTribe!
