WiFi on the Mariner

It is slow, especially if you sign on during peak times (limited size pipe). I prefer to use their machines, but then again, they have ancient computers and browsers (we're talking Netscape) so if you need anything special (outlook, flash, etc) you need to use your own. It runs $.55/minute unless you purchase a package upfront.

Not speaking of the Mariner, but the Rhapsody, I found taking my laptop saved me a bundle in internet charges. I never had to wait to use the internet: just sat down near a hotspot and logged on. I frequently used the LA lounge across the centrum from the internet cafe.

I would write my emails in Word, copy the text to the clipboard, open my interent account with RCCL, open my email, start a new email, paste and send. If it was just one email I would be on and off in about 1 minute.

I would frequently log on, read email, log off, do the above email writing, then log on again. It takes seconds to log on to your wifi account.

Next time I'm going to buy a new lightweight notebook to use.
