Stealing from the cruise ship

Dear all,

I finished coming back from the Carnival Valor couple weeks ago. And I noticed my neighbor's was no longer on board after the 3rd day. When i asked the cabin steward what happened to them , he let me know that his wife was caught stealing in the Casino and he was caught stealing some where else on board the ship. (Perhaps the gift shop or photo dept , not too sure). Both where up to no good.

The authorities kicked them off the ship at the 1st port of call !

Do you think the ship did the right thing from getting rid of the bad

apples ? I want to hear your opinions .

How can you steal in the casino:confused:

They where probably stealing chips from passengers , the type you would see in vegas casino movies , or tv shows. Typical tables like in craps. I bet these people where stealing from everywhere. And the cruise ship decided it was best to let them off in the 1st port of call. Im almost positive the local cops had to come on board to see the reports and any other paper work they had to go through.

If i go to Walmart and start stealing , you better believe i'll have a pair of hand cuffs in a heart beat. Stealing is Stealing either on board the ship , or in your home town.

My husband was at the blackjack table on the Legend and the woman beside of him took one of his $25. chip.

Did he get his chip back? What did the staff do about it? Did they throw her off the ship? Don't leave us hanging like this

I agree with OP, stealing is stealing wherever it's done.

Please tell us what happened........

Absolutely the right thing to do. Kudos to Carnival for doing just that.

Here's a casino etiquette question. If you walk by an unattended slot machine with either credits to be played, or coins in the, uh, the thingy where the coins come out (it's early, and I'm only 1/3 the way into my first cup of coffee), what are the rules? Do you alert staff or do you wait and then play after a certain period of time?

I've seen this so many times. I'm assuming the original player was either drunk and oblivious or done playing and not aware they still had credits to play. I have taken out S&S cards and taken them to the cashier or floor supervisor but am curious about unattended machines.

(Should I have brought my popcorn popper?)

I agree that stealing is stealing..they got what they deserved, but I'm curious to know how you knew they were "missing". I've been on many cruises where I've never seen or heard my neighbors or maybe saw them once the 1st day and never again. The reason I ask is, on my Sept. Glory cruise we heard both our neighbors out on their balconies 1st day. We often heard family to our left after that, but never saw or heard a peep from the family on our right. Now I wonder if they got booted off !! LOL

Stealing is stealing, wherever or however it happens (yes, claiming casino credits that are not yours, or retrieving quarters from the "thingy" is still stealing. ) So sure they should have booted them off the ship. I would have called the police at that port and have them ready and waiting, too.

I had this happen to me once. I called a member of the casino staff over and he stuck something in the machine, left, came back and ultimately removed the credits. There was enough time that went by that I was hoping the person who left the credits would come back, but they never did. Did I do the right thing? I'll never know but I think I felt better about myself.

Stealing from me in a casino will get your punched in the mouth. I've had more problems from horrible "dealers" either not being about to count to 21 or by those working the craps tables not paying me on my bets or just taking my money incorrectly. It really is true you can't successfully gamble and drink alcohol. Too much can go wrong.

I am very glad to hear this. Just because you are on vacation in a relaxed enviornment does not give one the right to steal no more than if you went into Walmart and put something in your pocket and walked out.

I was on the Victory a few weeks ago. In the photo section there is a sign that say something like taking picutres of pictures with personal cameras is prohibited, or something like that. Right underneath this sign was a girl taking pictures of her pictures and not trying to hide it at all. You know it really got me angry and that is exactlly what I thought this is nothing short of stealing. I pay for my pictures and I would expect everyone else to either purchase them or not, but this was so wrong..... OK vent over!!

We dont always know but I am glad that Carnival does take action when people do things like this. It is just morally wrong.
