billyvegas Posted November 24, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2009 I am sailing to the Caribbean with my Wife on the QM2 in December from New York and wondered, how long I would need warm clothing for, once we leave Brooklyn. Thanks in advance for your help! Billy
bobnatt Posted November 24, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 24, 2009 If you are on the December 20th cruise, so am I. In any event once you get on board the ship in Brooklyn you needn't go out until you hit the Caribbean. With that said you should expect that the first full day at sea will still be chilly and the second full day will be warm enough for spring type clothing. Love the beach Posted November 24, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 24, 2009 Afternoon of the second full day---unless there is a cold snap down south! It does happen sometimes! Have a great cruise!

Thanks in advance for your help! Billy Yea I would just stay in the ship until reaching the Caribbean but I would say by the second or third day the weather should start heating up. Assuming of course there isn't any erratic weather.

Thanks in advance for your help! Billy As soon as you hit the Gulf Stream the weather will hit in the 70s. Don't forget to slather on sunblock early on because you are getting the sun trifold; directly, off the reflection of the ship, and off the reflection of the water. mrrobby Posted January 1, 2010 #10 Share Posted January 1, 2010 Last January 2009, we woke up and it was unusually warm the first sea day.We left from Bayonne on Explorer of the Seas. I could not believe when my wife told me its warm on the balcony around 8 or 9 in the morning that first sea day. We actually were laying by the pool in bathing suits at 11 am and everyone was out there with us. That is not the norm, but it was a pleasant surprise.
