Morecruisesplz Posted December 24, 2009 #5 Share Posted December 24, 2009 Probably, but 17-year olds tend to be poorly served. If I were 17 again I know what I'd be doing on a cruise and it has nothing to do with an X-box. Lots of girls cruise and they probably enjoy befriending young men. Illmaxict Posted December 24, 2009 #8 Share Posted December 24, 2009 If I were 17 again I know what I'd be doing on a cruise and it has nothing to do with an X-box. Lots of girls cruise and they probably enjoy befriending young men. exactly. if your son is not comfortable socializing, or is awkward in situations with meeting new people, as many teens can be, I say you should NOT allow him to bring his xbox. It will force him to get out there and get out of his shell. You should remind him that these people don't live in the same town as him, and most likely will never see him again. There is nothing to be shy about. He should go out and make new friends. I was 19 when I went on my first, now I'm a social guy, but my cousin who was 15 wasn't exactly. I chilled with him for a little bit, but he couldn't come to the club and what not and was forced to do his own thing. He ended up meeting a lot of cool people and having a great time. A cruise is a great way for a budding youngster to bust out of their awkward shell.
cb at sea Posted December 24, 2009 #9 Share Posted December 24, 2009 Don't count on being able to use any attachments to the tv...it seems none of the plug ins work. He'll be fine for 1 week without any electronic amusements. There's ALOT to do on the ship!
madforcruising Posted December 24, 2009 #10 Share Posted December 24, 2009 But seriously...do they disable the HDMI inputs? What about component video? All inputs on the TV are disabled. With enough time, effort and eletronical knowledge there might be ways around this, but I wouldn´t bother bringing the X-Box as he won´t be able to plug it in. bouhunter Posted December 24, 2009 #11 Share Posted December 24, 2009 I can't imagine being on a cruise and sitting in an interior cabin playing video games, at any age:rolleyes: If nothing else it would be much more enjoyable sitting on deck reading a good book:)
ddcoons Posted December 24, 2009 Author #12 Share Posted December 24, 2009 Thanks for the advice. I agree with all of it. No Xbox then.
