Rare Host Kat Posted January 5, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2010 What are my options for parking leaving out of Galveston? Howdy and welcome to Galveston Island! Here are the cruise parking lots: Discount Cruise Parking http://www.discountcruiseparking.net/ 81st Dolphin Parking http://www.galvestonparking.net/ EZ Cruise Parking http://www.ezcruiseparking.com/ Galveston Park N Cruise http://galvestonparkncruise.com/ Lighthouse Parking http://www.lighthouseparking.org/ Port of Galveston Parking http://www.portofgalveston.com/cruiseinformation/parking.shtml Now if you are coming to the island a day or so before your cruise and staying in a hotel, you might want to research for one offering cruise parking. Some may be free, some may have a fee. To help you with your research, click here http://www.galveston.com/default.asp then the Where to Stay tab. 5waldos Posted January 5, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2010 Alternately- stay in a hotel which allows you to leave your car and will transport you to the ship. there are several of them.
Plant Posted January 5, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2010 Welcome to CC, kimpri! I agree with Host Kat and 5waldos :). It's much better to come in a day early and stay at a hotel that offers free cruise parking and either a taxi or a shuttle to the port. If you absolutely can't come in a day ahead of your cruise I'd recommend EZcruise parking.
lady_cruiser Posted January 5, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2010 If you don't want to leave your car at a hotel I can highly recommend EZ-Cruise Parking. Their lot has a tall chain-link fence around it and as soon as the last car is in the lot the gate is locked and your car is secure for the remainder of your cruise. We have seen people walking from their lot to the terminal (with their luggage) but we prefer to use one of their buses. That have several that is constantly coming and going so your wait is no more than a few minutes. They have people that will load your luggage on the bus for you and take it off for you once you get to the cruise terminal. The cost of this is only a couple of dollars since their bus drivers and the porter (who loads your luggage on and off the bus) only work for tips. mrsneurotic Posted February 22, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 22, 2010 Used EZ Cruise last year--worked great.
mrsneurotic Posted February 22, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 22, 2010 We found it easier to purchase a slightly less expensive hotel and pay the parking lot fee. The shuttle was waiting for us when we walked off the ship; easier than trying to get a cab back to the hotel and pick up our car after the cruise--we were on the road home by around 8:15 am:)
Texaslandshark Posted February 23, 2010 #8 Share Posted February 23, 2010 I did pick up a little tip from someone on CC...If you are taking an Ecstasy cruise leaving on a Mon., you might want to go with Lighthouse. Otherwise EZ Cruise will probably have you go to their further away lot due to all the Sunday departure cruisers who parked at the closer lot the day before. Did this last year and it worked just fine.

Did this last year and it worked just fine. that might be true while Voyager is in port thru mid April, but Galveston used to park for 5 ships at once ... once Voyager is gone, I really dont think this is a issue with just Conquest and Ecstasy. dandsfranklin Posted February 24, 2010 #10 Share Posted February 24, 2010 Could anyone recommend this one? I have used EZ Cruise in the past, but will have my mom and her scooter with us this time and was thinking the closer proximity to the pier may be easier. Would like to hear opinions from those that have used this one. Thanks!!
krisbtr Posted February 24, 2010 #11 Share Posted February 24, 2010 We just returned from a Conquest cruise, and we did park at Galveston Park and Cruise. While we thought the location was great(directly across the street from the terminal), we did have to cross a very busy street to get to the terminal itself. We had no problems, being we had rolling luggage, but I would be concerned with an elderly mother in a scooter. They do not have any shuttles to the terminal.
