firefly333 Posted January 5, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2010 Neither. There are people hired by the port who work for the port authority who take it.

cathyz Posted January 5, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2010 Neither. There are people hired by the port who work for the port authority who take it. But they have on the 'cruise line of the day' uniforms and name tags so they look like Carnival employees, even tho they aren't.

zqvol Posted January 5, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2010 Who takes your documentation at the pier for embarkation? The cruiseline staff or the imigration officials? The cruise lines staff is responsible for all documents. They inspect, not take the documents, verify that they are accurately in the system and then return all of them to you. The only ones that they need are you passport or your BC and photo ID. Everything else is in their system.
