Good Cruising Guide Books

Just wondered if anyone knew of a good guide book that had information on ports, excursions etc? We are first time cruisers gathering as much information as we can! Thanks :)

Libraries have them, or you can buy them at any bookstore.. Both Fodor's and Frommer's put out great guidebooks.

I too will be a first timer in July. I have the Frommer's guide to Carribean cruises. Its a GREAT book. Full of useful info. Or what I hope will be useful info once on board!

Try the Lonely Planet guides, too. Not aimed at cruisers, but still very relevant. EM

I bought both the Fodor's and Frommer's books for Ports of Call in the Mediterranean and found the Fodor's book much better.

I found a book by Anne Vipond for my upcoming Panama cruise-titled "Panama Canal by Cruise Ship, goes into each port (also includes Mexico), recommendations on shore excursions and history. I know she also has one on the Mediterrean and one coming up on Northern Europe.
