Kids on board Emerald in February?

We are sailing on the Emerald out of Ft. Lauderdale on January 31st with my 5 year old niece...and I am hoping that there will be other kids on board for her to play with.

Has anyone else sailed in February with children?

Have you joined the Roll Call? you may find families with kids there.

February is not a prime time for families with children to take cruises. But there should be some her age on the ship. I've heard that Princess will sometimes divulge info about the number of children on a particular sailing. Perhaps your travel agent can inquire on your behalf.

You won't find as many as those on a cruise during a typical school break. There will always be parents who will pull their kids out of school, especially the younger grades, and there may be younger preschoolers, so your 5-year old should have some company.:)

Schoolchildren here get a break later in February. The last day before the break is 2/12 and they go back on 2/22. I would expect a lot of children that week, but not early February.

There won't be many.... Your TA should be able to find out the numbers, but be prepared for very few to be on board. The vast majority of kids will be in school at that point.

 

We did a transatlantic crossing in early September a few years ago and my DD, 4 at the time, was one of TWO kids on board. It was very tough on both kids in many ways.

 

Be prepared for a handful of kids at best, and none at worst.
