Early Saver

How about a 5 day cruise to Canada?

Do you think Carnival would lower the other rates to be what the Early Saver was?

With a few exceptions ES is usually the lowest rate. If you wait to book until after the ES period is over keep an eye out for the Pack and Go specials.

I booked last July for a 6/2010 cruise on the Early Saver rate--since then the rate has gone up $80 per person for the 8D category (Balcony) and $60 per person for the 4F category (Interior for our boys). Just a little food for thought. Good Luck!

3 months on short cruises .. and yep Carnival often lowers senior or pack n go rates on guarantees to what ES rates are if the ship isnt selling well. Summer though ships should be selling, but there were price drops last summer July 4th time that my friend got. (probably the economy more so than summer rates usually drop, last summer bookings were weaker).

Iv seen the ES rates hang around a few days into the 3 month timeframe too.

I booked my cruise for Jan. 2011 a few weeks ago-I checked this week, and there are still 3 of the 1A's available, as Fun Saver, but no longer under E.S. What's up with that? (This far out, too?)

the 1As sell out easily, so they save a few for the late solo bookers? They have taken them out of ES on every cruise.

PS if you booked a 1A and later there is a IS price lower than what you have, you cant upgrade to it, not considered a upgrade, because 1As are part of IS guarantee Im told. Iv run into this too. Almost impossible to get a price drop if you booked a 1A

I booked mine E.S. on 12-19-09, and the remaining 3 were still available as E.S. up to this past Sun....................I wasn't expecting a price drop, as I got such a great rate for sailing solo:D-I'm just ocd in checking the prices:eek:!!!!!!

A couple of weeks ago I booked an 8B balcony on the Ecstasy for this June. My rate was $759pp ES. There are still plenty of cabins in that category available, but they are no longer available at the ES rate. The only rate they are available at now is $889...$130pp more than I paid. I had been procrastinating and hoping the rates would drop some. Now I'm glad I booked when I did. So just because the cabins are available, don't assume they will be available at the ES rate.

This is our first time cruising. I booked the earlysaver for April in November. At one point I noticed that the earlysaver rate had dropped considerably for the first 2 guests. I called and they credited me almost $200!!! I took it as "On Board Credit", since I had already paid the bill. Now we already have a "stash" for spending on the boat... I thought that would be the best way to use it.

Did I do the right thing? I'm a big girl and can take it.

If you got $200 OBC you done good!!! How could that be wrong. You already got tips paid. Now you only have to decide how to spend the rest. Lets see, a new purse (Iv done that), tee shirts (well of course, duuh, I always buy tee shirts), a little booze to bring home (thats a given), casino, book an excursion once onboard?? well that would zero out your OBC fast, the supper club ... and on and on.

I love having extra money to spend, but we got almost nothing for my next cruise. $50 for owning stock, thats it.

Not a bad move at all. Think of all tall cold ones $200 will buy. Enjoy your cruise.
