blitznbobs Posted January 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2010 My husband and I have hired a car to drive from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale, (driving down the day before the cruise) and we have to return the car on the day of the cruise. My husband wants to drop me and my son and the luggage off at the cruise ship and then take the car back to the rental place and grab a cab back. Will my son and I be able to board without him and if we do will he be able to board after us? Also how soon before setting sail do we have to be on board a Princess ship? Thanks in advance,. yogi2929 Posted January 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2010 The latest I would be comfortable boarding is two hours before. Your Princess paperwork will have the times for you. Yes, a party can be boarded separately. Make sure your DH has a boarding pass and his passport on him.
cb at sea Posted January 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2010 Yes, you can board at different times. Or, you could ALL return the car and take a cab to port--it costs the same for 1-4 people. You should get on the ship ASAP--after all, boarding day counts as the 1st day you've paid for...why waste 1/2 of it NOT being on the ship? Blitz Yes, so long as each of you has your own passport and documentation, you can board separately. Usually you have to be on board at least 90 minutes before the ship is to set sail. I always plan to be on board at least 2 hours before, in case there are any problems with paperwork or anything. .. Actually, we've always been on board WAY earlier than that..around noon, for a 4 p.m. sailing.. :)
Rare Essiesmom Posted January 27, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2010 If you are all going to be on the same credit card/account, you must check in together. If you and your husband are using different cards, you can board separately. EM

This would be hard as my son is 1 and needs a car seat and I have his pushchair etc etc. Much easier for hubby to drop us off and return I think
