MIA to pier

fanfare

Recommended Posts

Hi - We're flying into the Miami airport and hoping to grab a couple of cabs (there are 10 of us) to the pier, sailing on Liberty of the Seas in May. How far is it? Are there generally cabs available?

R

There are plenty of cabs. 25-30 minutes at the height of morning rush hour, otherwise 15 minutes.

You can also do transfers thru RC, and the cost is $15.80 per person one way. We just got back from a cruise leaving from Miami, and were going to get a taxi, but when we arrived at the airport and saw the RC signs decided to use them cause they took our baggage right then and we did not have to worry about carrying it from the airport to the taxi, then from the taxi to the port. That worked for us. Either way, there will be Taxis available or the RC bus.

Each cabin will hold 4...so you'll need several...It's $24 from MIA to port.

You may also find some vans with larger capacity at the airport. I believe we had a van that held six to eight passengers and their luggage the last time we flew into MIA. As with most major airports you will find a good number of taxi cabs just outside the baggage claim area. Check in with the dispatcher and he or she will assist you.:)

For more than one person, taxi will be the cheapest option and it will leave immediately instead of waiting for the bus to fill. With that large of group, you may want to look into a car service with a large van ... you might be able to get a better deal that way.
