firstcruiserDB Posted June 23, 2011 #26 Share Posted June 23, 2011 After trying for a few weeks to find out some information with no results, I finally called the resort today. We will be there next week. I was told that if they are not completely full, they will offer day passes. She checked the day we are going to be there and said it is not full. It is $35 per person + 22% tax. You do get 10% off some food and beverage, use of pool and beach, and chairs. As of now, I think we are going to try it. I will come back here and post when we get home!

When we were there, we were charged $35 per person but no tax. If you locate another thread, you will see the problems that we encountered. They would not honor the day room rate of $65 plus taxes though I had a email detailing what we were offered etc. Honestly, it is a beautiful place but it really bugged me as I wasted nearly one hour with the front desk as they were not budging and made it sound like I made it all up. I would go back but walk right through to the beach, which is free. In the afternoon, there were numerous people from the ship who just showed up and jumped in the pool....for free. tanus Posted July 29, 2011 #28 Share Posted July 29, 2011 Do you get a band for the use of the pool and beach chairs? How did you know the people who showed up hadn't paid?

I know it is based on availability, but we are cruising mid-February(yep, you got it, school break time, ugh!) and hoping there is a slight chance the resort isn't running full capacity. We were there last February and the rates were the same. We ate lunch at the restaurant at the pool and used beach chairs at the ocean. It is on the Atlantic side and the water was a little wavy and a lot of fun.

We were in St. Kitt's in February 2010 and went to a beach with a pier that the local children were jumping from. It was less than impressive. As a matter of fact, we passed the beautiful Marriott on the way to this beach. We certainly will give the "day pass" a try. Hopefully, they won't be running a full house on Feb. 24th. Nabalab Posted August 12, 2011 #34 Share Posted August 12, 2011 Thanks so much for all of the info. Wife and I don't have any excursions for St. Kitts when we're on Serenade next month, so we will give this a shot.
StKittsResident Posted August 14, 2011 #35 Share Posted August 14, 2011 The day pass rate is consistent year round but, as mentioned in other posts, is subject to the resort's occupancy. You won't need to register for one in advance but you should call the hotel before departing to make sure that day passes are available on the day your in port....the taxi drivers will take you there regardless and you don't want to get turned away once you get there! The holiday time, Dec 20-Jan 10, is typical black-out dates for the cruise ship day pass. If you're coming for the casino, it currently opens at 12pm on Friday and 4pm on Tuesdays - the only two cruise ship days running this time of year. Hope this helps some of you out...I live on island and have been on a couple cruises so I'm familiar with the activities/expectations of the passengers. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Hendon427 Posted September 30, 2011 #37 Share Posted September 30, 2011 I am a Marriott Vacation Club multi-week owner, so I an wondering if I can get a guest pass to use at the St. Kitts Vacation Club. Also, if you are on a ship, how do you 'reserve' the day pass 24-hours in advance. Is this something you can do perhaps before you leave home? Boo's Mom Posted May 16, 2012 #41 Share Posted May 16, 2012 http://www.caribbeandaypass.com THis is apparently a third party, selling the day passes, and will confirm with a voucher. They are offering me (with deposit) (which is actually their fee) the day after Christmas, which is certainly the resort's holiday season. Has anyone used this company? I am willing to pay a small fee in addition to the resort cost, to ensure that we will indeed have a place to go, in the resorts high season. It clearly states "Subject to Change, Subject to Availability." It is not a local company in St. Kitts but located in Barbados. It has also been mentioned countless times that the holiday period in St. Kitt is considered Dec 20-Jan 10 and this is the typical black-out dates for the cruise ship day pass. dvan68 Posted September 3, 2012 #45 Share Posted September 3, 2012 We did not have to pay to use the beach at the Marriott. We went through the lobby, to the beach, and asked the attendants if there was a fee to rent chairs - they took us to a palapa and made sure there were chairs. We did not use the pool. We bought a couple of beers from the pool restaurant. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand. It was totally free, and I do not feel like we scammed anything, since I specifically asked the attendants for a price. Your mileage may vary, but unless you need the room, I would check with the beach boys first.

ChristieNJ Posted October 19, 2012 #48 Share Posted October 19, 2012 So then we can take a taxi to the Marriott, and just use the beach for only the cost of chairs and umbrellas, correct? I wonder if they'd let you use their restrooms? lol :p Obviously we can use the restaurant since we'd be paying anyway. Hmmm.......
ChristieNJ Posted October 19, 2012 #49 Share Posted October 19, 2012 Also, is there a restaurant there that is beach-people friendly? Meaning one that you can go in if you were lounging at the beach all day? I was hoping they had something you can kind of walk up to and get something off the grill.
